1/n Because public health is so incompetent here are my thoughts if you're at home surrounded by wildfire smoke.
A. If you have the wherewithal - prepare your home for vacation & leave until its safe to come back. Arrange to meet your home owners insurance requirements.
B. If you can't leave, prevent outdoor air from entering your home; close windows, doors, and shut down any mechanical systems connected to the outdoors.

My #indoorairquality & #thermalcomfort lectures in a nutshell...this the stuff we need to teach #architects and #engineers but don't...neither of these fields are complete without understanding human factors. S/o @ashraenews
One of the cool studies I talk about is particle emission from carpets and respiration by infants crawling across the floor...it's a real thing...s/o to Wu & Boor from Purdue

Risk: I've long ago used up my nine lives...ask my friends and family for the stories...but the most difficult of all was surviving respiratory failure...fear is not the problem...pain is...trust me...you don't want to be in a ICU hooked up to the Borg.
Notes from ICU...while intubated & conscious I wasn't able to communicate except through pen...I wrote these without sight due to HA eye infection...thus the scribble...this is for the tough talking covid risk adverse people that have no clue about ICU...look close...

Isolation practices for those in studio apartments on ltd budgets...open the window to the extent that the baseboard heater doesn't freeze, run bathroom exhaust fan continually, seal hallway threshold, install a #corsirosenthalbox for more details healthyheating.com/2021.COVID.Res…
Occupants must be masked with ~N95's, work out schedules for masking breaks, allow 20 to 30 min between bathroom rotations to allow the exhaust fan to fully replace bathroom air from living space.

Re: isolation rooms..as much as I would like to chase tweets to address strategies for every case it’s not possible…there are hundreds of millions of occupied spaces in all climate zones…1/x
I live in a cold to very cold climate (-40C/F) and developed six (+1) strategies which serve 80% of all spaces…you need to read the examples noted at this link: healthyheating.com/2021.COVID.Res…
