During Maha Periyava’s Kasi Yatra a milkman used to supply milk every day to the camp. He did not know who Maha Periyava was or His greatness to get his blessings Image
as he was a Marathi and not heard about Him. He dutifully supplied milk every day. His wife fell ill and her health deteriorated rapidly. He took her to the doctor and the doctors there diagnosed her as having a type of cancer which cannot be cured as it was in an advanced stage.
He became very sad. Yet he continued to bring milk to the camp everyday. The helpers in the Matham seeing him, knew something was wrong with him, so enquired. He told about his wife’s diagnosis and that the doctors had told him to give any food she desired to eat as her days
were numbered. She did not have any particular want but just liked chilli pickles which he gave her to eat. Those in the Matham wanted to help the milk man. They approached Maha Periyava and started telling him about the milk man’s wife’s health condition. Even before they could
finish, He said, “You have all come to tell me that the milkman’s wife has cancer and is in a serious condition.” The helpers of Periyava were very happy that the all knowing Mahaan apparently knew this as well. They were relieved that He was aware of the situation. The milkman’s
Wife gradually became better and started her normal routine in her house. The milkman was surprised and took her to the same doctor. The doctor after testing her asked him if he saw another doctor and got her treated as she was fully cured. He said he would like to know the
treatment given to her so that he can use the same on other patients with similar issues. The milkman was puzzled as he had not done anything to help his wife except give her chilli pickles. Maya Periyava was the new doctor who cured the milkman’s wife and all those who knew Him
knew that. He is the world’s Vaidhyanathar.
