1/ Good morning.

If any of you are still bamboozled by Nancy Jacobsen and Mark Penn's @NoLabelsOrg's actual intentions let me hook you up.

They claim to be moderate, centrist problem solvers who are running a 3rd part effort to "give Americans more choices."
@NoLabelsOrg 2/ Nancy is one of DC's most powerful, influential, and connected players. A Swamp Empress. Richer than God.

She and Mark Penn are angry, though. Very, very angry. At whom, you ask?

Well, Democrats.

They were exiled from Clinton world. Obamas, same.
@NoLabelsOrg 3/ They've been on a jihad ever since. Mark has dozens of Fox hits defending and praising Trump.

Their major donors are the EXACT same billionaires funding Ron DeSantis. (Yeah, Nancy hides her donors, but girl, your org leaks because your staff hates you.)
@NoLabelsOrg 4/ They formed No Labels as a long con, a way to break the Democrats, get rich doing it (and again, they are VERY rich), and punish their imagined enemies.

They branded it as "centrist problem solvers" buy their plan to run a 3rd party candidate this year was anything but.
@NoLabelsOrg 5/ They're working to put a conservative Dem (Joe Manchin is their number one pony, but Sinema is also in the running if Joe falls off) on the ballot in key states to drain off votes from Biden.

Their math, maps, and polling are utter fantasy, an ever-changing target.
6/ @ThirdWayMattB at Third Way and @Philip_Germain at LP have more stats, data, and proof of fundamental mathematical and polling dishonesty than you can imagine. NL *makes up the polling numbers* to fit their narrative.
7/ When challenged how they'd get a candidate to 270, they argued their 3rd party goon could win in...Delaware. And Florida. And Washington State. And Utah. And um...well, you tell me if this is a serious map in your mind: Image
8/ It's all a fraud. They describe Joe Biden and Donald Trump as "equally unacceptable"...an assertion I'll leave you to assess. The plan all along was to burn down Biden, and they're getting on the ballot in key states to do just that.
9/ We know the why but what about the how? Getting on the ballot is hard, and NL is fraudulently representing its petitions in many states and changing voter registrations. They're in trouble in Maine and AZ already, with more to come.
10/ But they'll be on enough close states to drag off a % of conservative Dems and elect Trump or -- and here's the big reveal -- they'll drop out and not run a candidate if the Republican nominee is -- wait for it -- Ron DeSantis.

I'll let you process that while I get coffee.
11/ From @politico, this week: Image
12/ That's right. Centrist, moderate, problem-solver, just trying-to-give-voters-a-choice @NoLabelsOrg gave away the entire game.

You know, Ron DeSantis, that noted moderate. You know, Smilin' Ron, the nicest Republican.
13/ We're on final now, so bear with me. Why would they say that? The answer is "Dallas" and the answer is "Manhattan."

Nancy has raised something like $70 million dollars (as noted prior) from the EXACT SAME billionaires backing DeSantis.
14/ This donor set (including Sugar Daddy Harlan Crow) cares about 3 things; lower taxes at the Mt. Everest end of the income scale, carried-interest deductions, and oil-and-gas subsidies/write-offs.

They'll get them from Trump, but DeSantis has marginally better aesthetics.
15/ If they have to spend the $$$ to destroy Biden, they will...and @NoLabelsOrg is designed to be the vehicle for an ocean of dark GOP money dressed up as moderate do-gooderism.

They're perfectly fine with Trump if it happens, and if it's DeSantis they think it's in the bag.
16/ I implore DC media types to stop referring to @NoLabelsOrg as "centrist" or "moderate" for they are neither.

It's the most cynical ploy in service to Trump and the MAGA GOP one can imagine.
17/ Two other quick notes then I'll let you get on with your day. The Ian Fleming Rule of Coincidences (look it up) of is always right.

Last week, NL heralded former NC Gov Pat McCrory as their new front man. Pat's main advisor and close friend is Chris LaCivita.
18/ For you folks playing at home, Chris LaCivita is also the lead strategist to another candidate running in 2024.

That candidate is Donald Trump.

So endeth the lesson.

1/ I have a few thoughts about Chris Christie.

Yes, I'm delighted he's turned his considerable prosecutor's instincts on Donald Trump. Better late brave than never.

But there's a catch.

We're not here because Chris Christie is suddenly a brave truth teller.
2/ We're here because Jared Kushner shanked Christie.

Jared blocked Christie from getting the AG (or any) position in the Trump Administration.

And for six years, Christie was a reliable defender of Trump.
3/ THIS is the singular outrage that made Christie realize Trump is and always has been a treat to America?

This is his red line after a catalog of outrages, criminality, incompetence, betrayal, and outright evil?

He knows he has zero lane in today's GOP. Zero.

1/ Before we enter a sunny summer where fecund nature's bounty grows green and wild and where the laughter of the warm wind caresses the flowers, let's get some perspective over the indictment, the GOP field, the conservative media apparatus, and the dangers of magical thinking.
2/ The argument the case must be airtight if they're moving it to Miami to protect it from venue challenges that would obtain if it were tried in DC is...dangerous.

There's no better summary than this from @MarcACaputo:

themessenger.com/politics/trump…
@MarcACaputo 3/ Miami is a hotbed of Trump voters, supporters, skells, dreamers, boat-paraders, cultists, and people terrified of dead communists and imaginary communism.

The baseline of tolerable corruption in Miami makes normies heads spin.

1/ A few quick thoughts about Tucker.

First, and most deliciously, is the seething, furious meltdown on the right, alt-right, and loon-right. On the right, Tucker's wealth, origins, and prep-school presentation always helped launder the uglier stuff and dumb-down complex...
2/ ...issues for the demo. (Boomer, older GenX non-hs grads who comprise the core of the base). On the alt-right, Bannon's stompy-foot pissy-fit about Tucker and Fox tells you he lost the single best venue for laundering white nationalist...
3/ ...agitprop into the normies cable boxes. His "I'm just telling you why the Soros-funded brown people are trying to rape your women and take your job by cucking you" schtick was normative and essential for Bannon et al on the alt-reich.

1/ I'm not a bankshot guy. I'm not a magical thinking guy. I'm not a "look away, chile and it'll all be fine" guy.

I'm also not a lawyer, so let's be clear this is just advice as a guy who's been in this fight against Trump for EIGHT FUCKING YEARS at a level beyond Twitter.
2/ If you're in the existential fight to save this country from an authoritarian movement that's increasingly aggressive, confident, and centered on Trump, don't play the game you want to be in.
3/ Play the game you ARE in. All the legal peril is still prospective, a constellation of externalities that may or may not hold him to real account. MOST won't do so until next year at the earliest.

1/ So the Dominion lawsuit depositions from Rupert Murdoch and Fox News are lighting up the Internet tonight, and there's a true frenzy over the revelations that the entire network, even the performative nightside trio of terror.

They knew Trump lost. They knew there...
2/ ...was not then (nor is there now) a scintilla of fraud. They knew, and lied. Over, and over, and over. They chose guests they knew were lying. They allowed story meetings promoting a massive, dangerous lie that reduced faith and belief in the American system.
3/ The entire top level of Fox management knew their lies were leading to danger for this nation.

Just as the GOP once ruled the base and now the base rules the GOP, a slavering, inchoate rage beast demanding more and more...

Here's what I wrote in #ETTD about Trump and Reince:

"Not long after Trump entered the race, Priebus feared Trump would bolt the party, run as an independent, and wreck the GOP’s chances against Hillary Clinton. He absurdly believed that if he convinced Trump to sign a GOP...
2/...loyalty pledge, Trump would support the party after he lost the primary and that the oath would moderate some of Red Hat Don’s more grotesque excesses.
3/ So Priebus went to Trump Tower with a cheesy parchment that looked like it was extracted from a bin of discount award certificates at Office Depot and run through a knockoff-brand inkjet printer and had Trump sign it.
