@awkwardlefty_cj well...around this time, around the mid-70s onward, that's when you started seeing the initial pushes for Christian Nationalist "homeschooling" (which, in practice, is actually correspondence schooling, as I'll note--and yes, we'll get into things *deep*)

@awkwardlefty_cj Now, basically these programs operate in that you're sent a package of curricula and have a "satellite school" that actually issues transcripts and such; usually the publishers of curricula are historically segregation academies, and often the satellite schools are too

@awkwardlefty_cj And being institutions which were flat out designed to perpetuate white supremacy, they pushed a whole lot of historical revisionism regarding the Confederacy, and chattel slavery, and the Appropriate Role of Separation of Races Per Their Racist Interpretation Of The Bible

@awkwardlefty_cj (I'll also note, as an aside, that a lot of this historical revisionism was common in *public* schools in the South in the 1920s-1950s as the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and later on, early Christian Nationalist lobbies took over school boards in the South.)

@awkwardlefty_cj And, well, HSLDA also does...a lot of other advocacy, including being singlehandedly why the US is the only non-signatory to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (out of fear it'll give kids a means to fight against religiously motivated child abuse and neglect)

And yes, pretty much Christian Nationalist correspondence-schooling started right around the time these segregation academies started losing their tax exempts, and as states legalized unschooling and legit homeschooling

@awkwardlefty_cj And Christian Nationalists tended to do hostile takeovers of processes (just as Moms for Liberty is doing now, in a redux of what AFA and FRC did more directly in the 80s and 90s and 2000s in trying to hijack school boards from within as "stealth candidates")

@awkwardlefty_cj And so it's actually *difficult* in a lot of the country to really find inclusive homeschooling or any home education that's *not* Christian Nationalist correspondence-schooling (which again, is usually linked in some way or another to a historic segregation academy)

@awkwardlefty_cj And this curricula isn't the only slavery-denialist curricula you see in Christian Nationalist circles; BJU, A-Beka, ACE/School of Tomorrow, and yes, Doug Wilson's ACCS curricula ALL promote slavery denial and Confederacy denial to a non-negligible degree
