What do you know about the Waco tragedy?

All I new before listening to @scotthortonshow’s recent deep dive was that these were probably some religious weirdos, but also the @FBI assuredly screwed up & maybe accidentally started the fire.

What I can tell you now is that… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Curiously, when I tried posting the tweet above w/ the link to the podcast, @Twitter wouldn’t let me post it. Trying again here: podcasts.apple.com/es/podcast/sco…

CNN’s @eliehonig decries “activist” ruling ordering Biden to stop censoring Americans: “One of the most aggressive, far-reaching rulings you’ll ever see. [He’s] purporting to micromanage the day-to-day intersection btwn … the entire Executive Branch [& social media companies]”
.@WalterIsaacson: "Judge Doughty’s decision goes too far ... the decision will be refined somewhat, because government has to have the right to have its own free speech, to push back when they see things on social media they think are dangerous.”
MSNBC's @ryanjreilly argues the FBI isn't policing social media enough: "It’s not as though the FBI has been going in & saying, 'Hey, take down this post.' ... The FBI’s not very good at monitoring social media. Look what happened on Jan 6th. There are all of these warning signs"

MSNBC legal analyst @cchristian_LA on SCOTUS outlawing racial discrimination in college admissions: "I fear what will happen. Will there by many lawyers who look like Charles and I in the future? Or doctors? Or accountants? It is a problem. It is not preferential treatment."
@cchristian_LA MSNBC legal analyst @CFColemanJr: "What you’re doing is you are limiting people’s access to the American Dream, and that is something that we have not really been honest about in our discussion ... Now we’re going to see that segregation become wider and wider."
@cchristian_LA @CFColemanJr Christian: "Clarence Thomas, you know, he has criticized Affirmative Action. That’s how — that’s one of the reasons why he graduated from Yale and we know that’s one of the reasons why he’s on the Supreme Court."

Some inconvenient #Juneteenth facts

1) The Emancipation Proclamation was designed to help Lincoln win the Civil War, not end slavery (it specifically "excepted" Union states & southern states then under Union control) Image
2) The Emancipation Proclamation, which came two years into the war, was designed to deter Britain from coming to the aid of the Confederacy, as they had been considering (the ploy worked)
3) "[The Emancipation Proclamation] was necessary to put the South at a moral disadvantage by transforming the contest from a war waged against states fighting for their independence, into a war against States fighting for the maintenance and extension of slavery, by making some… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Thread: Quick update on how @Google is waging the information wars on behalf of progressives. Image
@Google As my publishing colleagues already know, @Google effectively controls the entire online advertising industry. Unless you’re big enough to sell ads directly to advertisers — and almost no publishers are — you need Google’s blessing in order to earn any money through online ads. Image
When someone wants to advertise online, they typically use an exchange like AdWords (now called Google Ads), where they choose the amount they’re willing to spend per thousand impressions (CPM), the type of sites they want their ads to appear, etc.
