The corn oil group had DOUBLE the rate of heart attacks despite lowering cholesterol

458 men with heart disease were studied over 5 years

one group consumed 9% PUFA, the other group consumed 15%

both groups decreased their cholesterol but those on the high PUFA diet had a 40 PERCENT higher mortality rate... Image
LA VETERANS

This was a double blind trial on veterans in LA where their cafeteria swapped out the fats they cooked with

Vegetable oils slightly decreased the risk of heart disease but almost DOUBLED the risk of cancer Image
This was the case even though there were 2X as many heavy smokers in the saturated fat group...

Meaning it may have been the smoking that contributed to the heart disease, whereas saturated fat protected against the cancer
The reason why this study is so great is because it is one of the only ones that lasted LONG enough to see the seed oils accumulate in fat tissue, and ultimately degrade into carcinogenic byproducts
MINNESOTA CORONARY EXPERIMENT

Gold standard randomized controlled trial on 9400 people showed that PUFAs lowered serum cholesterol

But for every 30 mg/dL reduction, there was a "22% higher risk of death"

but before you trust anybody on this subject, I highly suggest giving these studies a read and making a decision for yourself

the past 7 years of my life have been a detox of modern society, deconstructing all my limiting beliefs, learning what it means to live a good life, figuring out how to be happy and healthy in the world's most toxic society...

here are some things i've learned:
1. everything popular is wrong. you need to be comfortable looking weird, swimming against the tide if you want to be happy and healthy today

2. stop trying to be the best. be the only. go all in on what makes you weird and unique
3. use your free time to build the life you want, not escape the life you have. i was working a job i despised, but instead of drinking every night, i'd come home and read books, teach myself to code, learn to market, apply for new jobs.

You cannot be healthy if you have an unhealthy gut.

I used to have loads of issues and when I cleared them up everything else did too

Here's everything I did to heal:
First, why is the gut so important to health?

The gut has the tough job of both:

1. keeping toxins out
2. absorbing nutrients

When your gut is not functioning optimally it will not assimilate nutrients you need AND it will let in toxins causing loads of inflammation
