I was perusing US Covid media coverage & I was amused to see we’re still hearing from the same rotating list of captured experts who have been wrong about everything since 2020, spectacularly bombing every prediction. The list never changes. It’s always the same people. Thread:
We’ve got Gottlieb, King of Failed Predictions—I’ve done threads on his pandemic prediction failures.
CBS: Dr. Scott Gottlieb says he's "pretty concerned" about new COVID variant Dr. Scott Gottlieb tells "Face the Nation" that he's "pretty concerned" about the new COVID variant BA 2.86. While it doesn't appear to be more dangerous than other strains, it could be more transmissible, he said. 13H AGO
CNBC: Pfizer board member Gottlieb says the Covid pandemic could be over in the U.S. by January PUBLISHED FRI, NOV 5 2021 8:53 AM EDT UPDATED FRI, NOV 5 2021 4:37 PM EDT Robert Towey @ROBERTTOWEYCNBC WATCH LIVE
We’ve got Sanjay Gupta, who once again declared the pandemic over in May 2023, & who kicked off the pandemic in 2020 telling us kids didn’t transmit Covid effectively because their “short statures made for less powerful coughs & sneezes.”
CNN: Dr. Sanjay Gupta explains what you should do if you get Covid now Federal surveillance data suggests that Covid-19 levels are trending up in the United States, but key metrics remain well below most other points in the pandemic. Dr. Sanjay Gupta explains.
CNN: Dr. Sanjay Gupta: The Covid-19 emergency is ending. It’s time for the patient to leave the hospital By Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Updated 10:22 AM EDT, Wed May 10, 2023
We’ve got Leana Wen instructing us to use more Paxlovid four months after we heard variants are already developing resistance to Paxlovid, and 2 months after she was hospitalized for pneumonia in the middle of the summer. Washington Post: “The Checkup with Dr Wen Paxlovid is still underutilized. That must change” Leana Wen August 3, 2023
We’ve got Bob Wachter telling us he isn’t masking today and pretending it’s because he has this novel risk calculus that works really well, but really it’s because he just got Covid and busted his face.
Bob Wachter tweet 8/18/23: “However, once you hit month 4, don’t count on your boost or Covid case to protect you vs. infection. (They still will protect you from severe infection & Long Covid – I give them 1 year of credit in this regard). So while I’m not masking today, if the case rates remain… (13/25)”
CNN: “A doctor known for assessing Covid risk fell ill with the virus. Here’s what he wants you to know.” Dr Robert Wachter posted an image of himself after his fall showing his injuries and stitches” (photo of Bob Wachter in a neck brace, black eye, stitches on his face)
We’ve got Ashish “My hope is that in 2023 we will see commercialization of all these (Covid) products” Jha, who rode off into the sunset amid great fanfare over the summer, back again for a new & even more frightening wave in August.
Washington Post: “Opinion: The US is more equipped than ever against Covid. Thank you Ashish Jha by Leana Wen June 21, 2023
WBUR. “Covid is spiking in Boston. Local doctors tell us what that means.” August 16, 2023 by Khari Thompson Carrie Jung A photo of Ashish Jha is shown
May 2021: “There are all these kind of hidden systemic structures that explain why we get who we get on TV, and only a tiny percentage of that is related to the expertise of the person.” statnews.com/2021/05/18/how…
I will never forget this.

Interview requests go to the optimistic, not the cautious and concerned.
We reopened schools with no mitigation based on the guidance of economist Emily Oster & her Koch-funded database.

We spent 2 years infecting & reinfecting the nation’s children with a BSL-3 novel pathogen, & it continues to this day. levernews.com/how-the-koch-n…
Our “new courageous accept exposure” strategy was detailed here in January by Steven Phillips MD, MPH, former Medical Director for Global Projects at Exxon turned VP Science & Strategy, COVID Collaborative & Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology. time.com/6251077/covid-…
Time: Time: “The U.S. is now at a major pandemic crossroad. “Follow the science” has been a central policy guidepost in the pandemic. Science and public health knowledge and expertise is the conduit to both sound policy and public education through media channels. New courageous “accept exposure” policies, public education and behavior change strategies are needed to capture the benefits of the new paradigm. This could be a major step in bridging our national COVID divide.

This is why we never make progress.
CBS: New COVID variants EG.5, FL.1.5.1 and BA.2.86 are spreading. Here's what to know. healthwatch BY ALEXANDER TIN AUGUST 21, 2023 / 1:14 PM / CBS NEWS A still video shot of Scott Gottlieb being interviewed on Face the Nation
Leana “I was quietly hospitalized for ‘pneumonia’ this summer” Wen is back to steer the conversation away from “Accept Exposure” to “Accept Disability.”
I missed the Stat News piece, “Long Covid is a new name for an old syndrome,” was written by Exxon’s former Medical Director for Global Projects, the “new courageous accept exposure policies, public education, & behavior change strategies” eugenicist himself, Stephen Phillips.
Andy Slavitt is making an appearance this season.
It is 2023 and mainstream media won’t stop interviewing all the same people who previously drove us off a cliff. The people never change and the guidance never changes either.

EVERYTHING is about protecting business at the expense of humans. The lies aren’t going to stop.

Here is a thread I made when Candida auris began jumping from person-to-person for the first time EVER. Biden was President & we were 4 months into Back to Normal.

Everyone ignored it.

By 2024, we had C. auris clusters in children’s hospitals, & some states quit reporting it.
The carnage is so widespread, it’s actually breathtaking. After Biden rolled back public health protections in U.S. hospitals, we’ve simply ignored the RECORD disease that followed.

Mark my words, THIS pathogen will collapse our healthcare systems.
We are doing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” public health, & it’s going to kill us.

NYS is reporting the largest one week flu increase since record-keeping began in 2004. Hospitalizations increased 63% in a week. Last year, bird flu was surging in tandem with influenza A, & it was concerning.

As the record mutant flu arrives, NO ONE is mentioning bird flu…
I hate seeing these patterns as most of society, including our government, remain oblivious.

CNN ran articles with headlines like, “Spike of flu virus in wastewater raise questions about spread of bird flu.”

Then we forgot.
“More than 71,000 positive flu cases were reported in New York in just seven days — the most since influenza became a reportable disease in 2004.

Hospitalizations are climbing just as fast, jumping 63% in one week.” rochesterfirst.com/news/health/sp…

We knew this by 2022, when the 1-year studies were published.

The data was HORRIFYING. Covid in pregnancy was associated with 2x increased rate of neurodevelopmental diagnoses. Then we spent the next 3 years repeatedly infecting all the babies & kids. post-gazette.com/news/health/20…Pittsburgh Gazette: COVID infection during pregnancy linked to neurodevelopmental issues in study Photo of Hanna Webster HANNA WEBSTER Pittsburgh Post-Gazette hwebster@post-gazette.com DEC 6, 2025 4:00 A
“We should not forget about the importance of protecting against infection in pregnancy. It has a major benefit for moms, but there may be this added benefit for children as well.”

Why are they pretending this is new & uncertain?? post-gazette.com/news/health/20…

MAHA.

“The Trump administration is backing Monsanto in its effort to get the Supreme Court to shield it from liability over cancer claims related to its Roundup weedkiller.” Hill: Trump admin backs Monsanto effort to limit Roundup lawsuits over glyphosate BY RACHEL FRAZIN 12/02/25 02:07 PM ET
OOPS - it’s fine though! Don’t worry, no one can sue!
The Trump administration filed a brief with the Supreme Court that said, “Eat Shit & Die Faster. Who cares if the weedkiller is in all the sperm? Who cares if you’re all sick & infertile? Monsanto needs us.” thehill.com/policy/energy-…The Trump administration is backing Monsanto in its effort to get the Supreme Court to shield it from liability over cancer claims related to its Roundup weedkiller, a move that could anger the Trump administration’s allies in the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement. The Trump administration filed a brief with the Supreme Court arguing that lawsuits alleging that Monsanto failed to warn consumers of the health impacts of its Roundup weedkiller are preempted by federal law.
The brief comes in support of Monsanto’s effort to get the Supreme Court to overturn a lower court’s ruling that the company had to pay damages for failing to warn about its product’s health impacts. The Trump administration’s brief notes that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers Roundup ingredient glyphosate not likely to be cancer causing and has approved its use. It says that states should not be able to impose further requirements that give rise to failure-to-warn lawsuits.

And so it begins…

An American died of H5N1 at the beginning of the year, but we ignored it.

We didn’t report a single human case all year, until recently…not because we were testing & tracking it, but because we were not. ABC: Washington state man believed to be the first to die from a rare strain of bird flu A Washington state man is believed to be the first person to die from a rare strain of bird flu, but state health officials say the risk to the public is low ByThe Associated Press November 21, 2025, 9:44 PM ET • 2 min read
We have been hearing “the risk to the public remains low” since the first human H5N1 case was reported in the U.S. in 2022.

This strain has never been reported in humans before. abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/w…The risk to the public remains low," the statement from state health officials said. “No other people involved have tested positive for avian influenza.” Health officials said they will monitor anyone who came in close contact with the man, but “there is no evidence of transmission of this virus between people." Earlier this month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a statement about the infection that said no information would suggest “the risk to public health has increased as a result of this case.”
“The risk to the public remains low.”
