A unique never before thread of how YAMRAJ PLAYED HAVOC WITH THE MARATHAS

The Marathas could have ruled the Indian subcontinent for much longer & kept the British out but 1 big strike of fate against them from start to finish prevented this

UNTIMELY DEATH OF LEADERSImage
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj freed 230 forts from the Mughals and Deccan Sultanate, carved out an independent Hindu empire starting with just one jaagir around Pune.

But he died early at age 52 just when the empire was getting startedImage
His son and great ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj kept the fledgling empire alive, kept the Mughals at bay for 9 years and fought the Portuguese.

But was captured by Aurangzeb, tortured and martyred at young age of 32.Image
Fortunately under Rajaram and Tarabai Marathas won the 25 year war and Mughals were demolished.

The next great statesman, the first Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath, who inflicted the first defeat of Mughals at Delhi in 1719 died at young age of 52Image
His sons, Peshwa Bajirao 1 & his brother Chimaji Appa conquered most of India & liberated it from Jihadist rule.

But Bajirao died at age 40 of sudden fever

And his brother Chimaji Appa who liberated Vasai from Portuguese died a year later at 39.Image
After 1737 only Maratha puppets sat on the throne of Delhi.

However in 1761 in the Battle of Panipat an entire generation of leaders Sadashivrao Bhau (31), Vishwasrao (19), Shamsher (27) and Jankoji Shinde (16) were killed. All youngsters under 30 years.Image
Peshwa Nanasaheb, credited for taking Maratha banner till Bengal was ailing of Phythis for years before battle of Panipat and died of disease set on by shock at age 40 after the loss at Panipat.Image
The Marathas regained control of Delhi again in 1771 under the legendary Peshwa Madhavrao.

He could have done wonders and kept the British out.

But he died prematurely of Tuberculosis at 27.

Maratha recapture of Delhi was the last great news he received on his deathbed.Image
Raghunath Rao was a gray character but at least in battle and military affairs he was a legend and single handedly responsible for expanding the empire to Attock in West Punjab.

He too died of unknown causes at age 50.Image
Madhavrao 2's (Sawai Madhavrao) suicide in 1795 at age 21 by jumping off a palace wall started Maratha decline.

He was succeeded by the degenerate Bajirao 2

British won the 3rd Anglo-Maratha War in 1818 & the 1857 Mutiny.

And thus it was all over via EARLY DEATH OF LEADERS.Image

Dire civilizational warning - if you read one thread today let it be this one. Your future is on the line & honestly it doesn’t look too bullish for Hindus in India.

Using a real life anecdote from today I’ll show you how situation is no different from elections of British India in 1937 & 1946

Save this tweet for 2029Image
A childhood friend who’s now a successful businessman was in town & we met for a quick 20 mins

He’s very involved with BJP & close to one candidate who had been given an MP ticket as he had a good track record of winning MLA seats. This particular MP constituency had approx 5 MLA constituencies with one M majority area.Image
Because of his track record BJP candidate assumed easy victory.

And surprise - He lost.

Why? In 4 areas he did get higher % of votes but in the 1 M area the % against him was so overwhelming that his gain in other 4 areas was fully erased. Image

This thread is unique & different from our regular ones

A list of existential questions. Would appreciate if you can provide a logical, spiritual, faith based (any faith) or scientific answers to these

If possible please keep answer simple enough for avg brain to process Image
If there is a creator then who created the creator?

If someone fled then where does chain end?

If no one did then how does creator exist? Image
Why did the creator create?

How would it have been any different if nothing was created & there was pure emptiness?

What was the compelling need to design samsara like a karmic points based video game? Image

Every Hindu who thinks you'll automatically survive forever just because your dharma is "sanatan" (timeless) should read this unmissable thread

A brief history of Parsis (Zoroastrians) who once held sway over an area almost as big as India but near extinct today

Learning lessonImage
1700 BCE: Origins - Zathurashtra (founder and prophet of Parsis) imparts the principles of Zoroastrianism in Central Asia, believed to have occurred between 1700 and 1000 BCE.Image
550 BCE: Expansion - Cyrus the Great establishes the Achaemenian Empire, promoting Zoroastrianism as its predominant faith, leading to its unprecedented growth and territorial expansion.Image

1/14 What's the fundamental difference in organized Abrahamic faiths vs Hinduism?

Why did Hindus lose 50% land & mind share but didn't die out?

Don't miss this thread that combines history, human psychology and philosophy to answer basic civilizational questionsImage
2/14 Most influencers, handles or narratives present a unidimensional view of history and human interactions i.e. the group they identify with is all good and adversarial groups are all bad.

But in reality history is multi-layered & humans are multidimensionalImage
3/14 Humans if left without a domineering framework will pursue self interest first

For example a lot of Hindus allied with Mughals. Sikhs on occasion have allied with British & Mughals have fought Afghans, Christian armies have fought genocidal wars etc.Image

Why did Marathas & Sikhs not join hands against Afghans & British?

History is shockingly complicated - Don't miss this thread

Mughal empire was demolished by 1717

By 1750 Marathas ruled India & Sikh misls controlled Punjab.

Why didn't they join hands?Image
Mughals were Maratha vassals but still retained revenue rights over Delhi

There was a Mughal governor called Adina Beg who was struggling against invading Afghans under Ahmedshah Abdali

We think of Sikhs Marathas as mortal enemies of Mughals but truth has layers and nuancesImage
Yes on a broader spectrum Mughals were enemies for both Sikhs and Marathas.

However at local levels there were complicated equations and power struggles

Adina Beg was once supported by Sikh generals Jassa Singh and Vadbhag Singh against the Afghans and got a temporary respiteImage
