Saying “physiognomy is real” is a top-notch dig because it insults both body & mind. Much of the time, it holds true. Turns out, you CAN judge a book by its cover.
🧵 a short thread... (1/7)
Guess which guy wrote “The Boniface Option” and which guy calls CN a deep state psyop?
If I were to ask you which guy writes about culture for American Reformer, and which one writes about Taylor Swift for TGC, how long would you have to think about it? (2/7)
Which photo is of the guy who was arrested for protecting women on a NYC subway, and which one is a selfie posted by the libs on “The New Evangelicals” account? (3/7)
Would it leave you puzzled if I asked you which guy tore down the satan statue in Iowa, and which one responded with a barrage of tweets condemning the other for doing so? (4/7)
In the olden days, folks were allowed to notice such things. It turns out that behaving like an orc brings about more orc-like characteristics. It is the way that God programmed the world. Happy people generally look happy. (5/7)
If you have ever read the book, the whole question behind Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" is, "What would happen in a world where this was NOT the case?" Dorian Gray was the exception that proved the rule. (6/7)
There is a lot to say on this subject, but I am out of time. Gotta get back to work. Will comment some more another time. (7/7)
@bw_phillips @DragonsNotDinos I abhor Sovietism with every fiber of my being, but still joke with friends about how great their anthem sounds. As I said in another reply, aesthetics can be appreciated universally. Regardless of regime, we are all human.

I am seeing some R.L. Dabney disrespect on the timeline, from persons who are not worth mentioning.
Perhaps you have heard the name, but maybe don't understand why Dabney is so appreciated by many.
Dabney was one of the greatest homegrown American theologians. Unlike many theologians today, Dabney had his finger on the pulse of society. He predicted, with the accuracy of a prophet, many of the cultural trends that would not manifest for another one hundred years.
During this Christian Nationalism controversy, I have replied to our G3 brothers many times and received no response. That is, until this morning, when I replied with a Doug Wilson video clip. Then I had Josh Buice and Virgil Walker in my replies within seconds...

Here, @William_E_Wolfe, an author of the CN statement, asks a question that gets SIX TIMES as many likes as the OP, and yet @JoshBuice never saw fit to respond.

@VirgilWalkerOMA has already argued that this debate is mostly a matter of "platform" and "branding." Which to me, seems like projection.
