Here's a 🧵with a rundown of all the numerous times Tim Walz either lied about his military service record or sat quietly while others publicly misrepresented Walz's military service for him. Let's start with this on.
Tim Walz thanked Nancy Pelosi at a press conference in 2007 in which she said while introducing him that “we appreciate his service on the battlefield.”
Congressional hearing with a Gold Star family:
A 2006 press kit distributed by Walz’s campaign featured articles misrepresenting his military service, including one that said he “just returned from fighting the war on terrorism.”
Tim Walz on August 10, 2018: “I’m a retired sergeant major.” (He’s not)
Star Tribune from 2006. Tim Walz NEVER corrected them:
Tim Walz introduced himself at a 2006 veterans event as a “retired command sergeant major,” which is a lie.
In 2008, Tim Walz endorsed a book titled, “Winning Your Election the Wellstone Way.” This book had a section on Walz, falsely describing him as a “National Guardsman who served in Afghanistan.” Walz never served in Afghanistan:
2006 Bloomberg profile with Walz says he served in Iraq. He did not. 18 years later they edited it to hide the like Walz told.
Kamala Harris's campaign already admitted in a Friday news dump that this was a lie & Walz’s never carried a weapon in war.
Here’s vets confronting Tim Walz’s staff a about the Walz misrepresenting his service in 2009. Walz did nothing to correct the record and continued lying about it for another 15 years.
This one's hilarious. CBS just published a “fact check” on Instagram into Walz’s stolen valor. They cited a Harris-Walz campaign spokesman who claimed Walz “chaired Veterans Affairs” in Congress. Except Walz was never the Veterans Affairs Committee chair.
In 2004 Tim Walz carrying a sign falsely claiming to be a Veteran of the Afghanistan War (Enduring Freedom) is stolen valor. BTW, this tweet calling Walz out is from 2022.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot more examples of Walz doing this. It’s pretty clear Walz has been lying about his military service record to score unearned points with voters for over 20 years.
Got a new one to add. The examples of Walz #StolenValor just keep coming.
And another one. Not sure how Walz explains away this one as "misspeaking"👇
This one is a twofer as Walz implies he deployed to Afghanistan & was more than just a part time assistant coach.
Tim Walz was deployed to Italy. He's clearly implying he was deployed to a war zone where PTSD for him & his men would be an issue. No sure why anyone would care what movie Walz was shown when he got back from Italy.
From way back in 2005. Walz never corrected them.
The Minnesota Governors web page bio for Tim Walz still lists Walz as a retired Command Sergeant Major
This is Tim Walz writing last year that he was in Iraq.

If you want to know why Republicans look aghast at so-called "Independent Commissions" just look at how the California Redistricting Commission was gamed by Democrats to gerrymander seats in their favor. This packing of GOP votes is a pretty clear gerrymandering tactic.
The CA Redistricting Commission purposely snaked Kevin McCarthy's district to soak up GOP votes in order to make 2 potentially competitive seats Democrat.
Is the map that the CA Redistricting Commission drew better for the GOP than what the Democrats in Sacramento would have drawn? Yes. But this commission system is hardly a model of fairness to take national.

The irony of North Carolina redistricting is that the rules allow Republicans to draw a map like this were put in place by Democrats in attempt to gerrymander Republicans out of power.
The reason Gov Roy Cooper (D) can't veto the maps is because Democrats in 1996 took away the gubernatorial veto to prevent a Republican governor from vetoing their gerrymanders.
The Chief Justice of the North Carolina supreme Court who will pick the panel to decide any redistricting cases is a Republican because #NCGov Roy Cooper (D) politicize Court appointments and it backfired on him spectacularly.
