"Brain on Fire" " starring Chloë Grace Moretz is on Netflix now.

It's the story of the @nypost journalist who got autoimmune encephalitis - specifically, anti-NMDAR encephalitis.

Guess what COVID can give you?

It is the most common kind of autoimmune encephalitis, hitting women at a 4 to 1 ratio.

Nice, right? It can be very difficult to diagnose, so say hello to a psychiatric diagnosis.

. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
Anti–NMDA-receptor encephalitis is the most common type of autoimmune encephalitis.14 It frequently affects young women (female-to-male ratio of 4:1; median age, 21 years).14, 15
There are numerous cases documented.

Here is one.

Here are 8 more.

Confirmed trigger factors for anti-NMDAR encephalitis are tumours and herpes simplex encephalitis.1,2 Two studies have suggested a possible association between the HLA class I allele B*07:02 and the HLA class II allele DRB1*16:0.3 In this case, we suspect that SARS-CoV-2 infection acted as a trigger for the onset of anti-NMDAR encephalitis.
We identified eight case reports in which anti-NMDAR encephalitis (characteristic disease symptoms and detection of NMDAR antibodies in CSF) occurred with a time delay of 3 days to 3 weeks after the manifestation of COVID-19 disease (Table 1). Four of the identified 8 patients developed symptoms with a time delay of less than one week. The age of the patients ranged from 23 months to 53 years and consisted of four males and four females.
The mechanism may look like this. Diagram of mechanism.
More detailed yet👇....hit this study for even more.

Utterly fascinating.

"Just a cold" is not fascinating. I like my viruses boring and not thought of as, and I quote👇👇, "an autoimmune virus."

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Possible pathophysiology of anti-NMDAR encephalitis induced by SARS-CoV-2. During acute COVID-19 infection, viral particles, including NSP8 and NSP9, are released. The released proteins are recognized by T cells, leading to activation of B cells, which become plasma cells and produce IgM and later IgG antibodies against NSP8 and NSP9. I SARS-CoV-2-associated endothelitis and IL-17 produced by activated T cells disrupt the blood–brain barrier, allowing NMDAR antibodies to enter the CNS. IL-6 alters glial activity and initiates neutrophil granulocyte migration leading to further blood-brain b...

Why do I mask? Because I don't want a brain on fire.

But you should go watch "Brain on Fire" with a friend.

But only while wearing an N95. Image

BLOOMBERG TWEETING OUT COVID has all sorts of cognitive issues and of a coming SURGE OF DEMENTIA?

/1
What We Know About Covid’s Impact on Your Brain Scientists are worried that persisting cognitive issues may signal a coming surge of dementia and other mental conditions
Seniors Infected? 40% developed cognitive impairment. Research has since shown that Covid-related cognitive deficits can persist for years, especially in older adults and those who suffered more severe cases. For instance, a study of seniors hospitalized during China’s first Covid wave showed that 2 1/2 years later, 40% developed cognitive impairment, compared with just 14% of their uninfected spouses.
Three years after discharge

🤯Half experienced moderate to severe depression.

🤯A quarter suffered severe cognitive decline.

🤯 1 in 9 showed a loss of mental function equivalent to a 30-point drop on the IQ scale, where a score of 100 is average. So, a 70.

Oof. A 2024 UK study of people hospitalized for Covid treatment revealed a significant worsening of psychiatric and cognitive symptoms three years after discharge. Half experienced moderate to severe depression, a quarter suffered severe cognitive decline, and one in nine showed a loss of mental function equivalent to a 30-point drop on the IQ scale, where a score of 100 is average.

Marc Veldhoen as discussed by Marc Veldhoen.

Quick walk and talk on the Veldhoen Paradox.

Marc: When you have no expertise in a particular field; it is hard to understand the data, context and the conclusions.

Marc: leave it to the experts.

Call him crazy, or guilty of doing everything he accuses others of like a mini Trump,

Marc Veldhoen @Marc_V... 11 Feb 23: When you have no expertise in a particular field; it is hard to understand the data, context and the conclusions. The chance you have discovered something the field does not know are near 0: you will be wrong. But, it is also critically important for the field to communicate.
Another warning that not all paper are valid, not all are good, not all contain reliable data or conclusions. Leave it to experts in the respective fields to collate data, interpretation it, judge the validity, and come to a consensus.
but I don't see any studies on child immunology by him.

No studies on children - at all. Not in his published studies - and not with his group.

Did you know that there is an entire field called "Pediatric Immunology?"

And they, as a field, do not say imm.medicina.ulisboa.pt/investigation/…

@MichaelSLaufer - Fascinating article here on making our own medicine!

This 🧵 is a Covid call to arms.

Sovaldi, the literal cure for Hepatitis C, costs $84,000. Meaning the 15,000 who die of it every year, could be saved for just $69.72 each.

Ok, I tend to have some very smart followers.

You have hacked the N95 for the nose, the CRBox, etc.

It's given me great pleasure to share your knowledge as part of the hive mind.

Two thoughts on this medicine printer.

Paxlovid. Future LongCovid cure.

Who has $1,500 for
Paxlovid's 1 week, much less $3,000 for the two week course?

Even if you have insurance, that's co-pay PLUS $1,500 as they won't pay out for the second week.

And that's even if you are able to get it prescribed (was that you, Canada, UK?).

Imagine if you were able to print

Seems like @ClareWilsonMed is quite the liar.

No clicks for (k)icks: please read her "work" here:

Seems like a liar?

She starts this dreck with, " I support the right of anyone who wants or needs to wear a mask ...." archive.is/ZG5Wu
But she calls it unethical for @LongCovidSOS, who has LongCovid, to call for more data collection, here.

She then goes on to next attack @Aspasiapal, because she just doesn't want Covid.

I had to sit down for this bit of #H5N1 news (redid 🧵).

It will truly be a miracle if it does NOT get into humans enough that we go full world pandemic.

Crazy that this could be gleaned from one paragraph.

Virus was detected 16 days BEFORE symptoms.

Do you see it, too?

/1 In unpublished research, scientists at Colorado State University and Iowa State University who tested bulk milk tank samples found that the virus is detectable 14 to 16 days before farms saw a significant increase in symptoms like low appetite, lethargy, fever, and a dropoff in milk production.
If the virus is in the milk two weeks before any symptoms, then we WILL get raw milk drinkers drinking infected milk.

Because the symptoms include the clotty milk.

Maybe we get that miracle. Maybe we get lucky.

Viruses never mutate in predictable ways, so there's that.

/2
But. Combine that presymptomatic viral milk with raw milk drinkers AND cryotolerant #H5N1 👇👇 ?

I view that paragraph above the same as the first video I saw of people collapsing in Wuhan.

It's coming. It's just a matter of when.

Brendan Jackson was the @CDCgov Incident Manager of COVID.

He is directly responsible for Covid's disappearance, the pastel maps - all of it.

A thread on why he is lying...and how he just lied to Lygia.

It starts with his uniform. ncicp.org/staff-member/b…

Image
It is the uniform of the US Public Health Service. The CDC belongs to it.

The CDC is run by the CDC Director who is a political appointee, appointed by Biden.

CDC is also directly under the HHS - all under Biden.

This picture was of Biden and his dog who ranked higher. This picture was of Biden and his dog who ranked higher. Now, showing Brendan directly below.
Not an insult, actually, a factual statement.

Just the other day Cohen urged vigilance. How?

Jackson oversaw the pastel greening of the COVID cases...and then getting rid of it altogether like Pinochet disappearing his people.

Because public health is political health and
