Luigi Mangione's News to keep you informed because there's clearly more than what meets the eye...
a thread 🧵
What happened in court?
Mostly he stared and rocked back and forth in his chair. At one point, he attempted to speak to the court but was quieted by his attorney, who told him "don't say a word."
What's next?
Luigi Mangione will remain jailed in Altoona, Pennsylvania, as the extradition process plays out.
It appears Mangione and his attorney will fight being moved to New York.
New York prosecutors have obtained an arrest warrant for Mangione, which could speed up the process.
Make sure to follow🫶🏿 I will update the thread as I see new information.
Official booking photo of Luigi Mangione released by PA Department of Corrections.
After Luigi Mangione's first jail photo was released, his family said they're "shocked and devastated" about his arrest.
Mangione’s family offered prayers to Thompson’s family and asked people to “pray for all involved.”
What do you notice about Mangione's pants?
This is perhaps one of the saddest images I've seen yet.
As reported by Newsweek: Mangione had reportedly had spinal surgery just one year ago.
Spondylolisthesis (pronounced spohn-di-low-less-THEE-sis) is a health condition where one of the bones in the spine, called a vertebra, slips out of place.
Most common in the lower back, symptoms can include pain and stiffness in the back that is often worse when standing or walking, and difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time
If the misaligned bone traps a nerve, as happened in Mangione's case, this is called sciatica and can cause pain, numbness and tingling in the back, bottom and legs.
Side effects of spondylolisthesis may include chronic pain, spinal arthritis, nerve damage and incontinence (difficulty controlling when you pee or poop).
Thompson is survived by his wife and two sons.

I’ve read Jay-Z’s response to the civil case filed against him.
I’ve also read the statement from Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing the alleged victim.
And like most of you, I’m left with no clear answer—I have no idea who’s telling the truth.
What I do know is that the allegations against Jay-Z are serious. (Thread) 🧵
1/4 I don’t believe all women, and I don’t believe all men. I believe in due process.
The idea of “Just believe the woman” is not only unconstitutional, but also dangerous. As a woman myself, I know how intense emotions can get. Have you ever seen a woman scorned? Like anyone, women are capable of deep, irrational anger and resentment.
I spoke out publicly about this long before it became a widely popular to do so, during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. I’ll never forget the moment I realized how dangerous this mentality could be. I was a guest on The Story with Martha MacCallum on Fox News, and as a mother of a son, the thought that he could live an exemplary life only to have it ruined by an unfounded accusation from 20 years ago was deeply unsettling.
What was even more unsettling was the presence of another mother on the panel—a criminal defense lawyer—who was driven entirely by emotion. I couldn't help but think: God help the son who has to face her in court.
2/4 This alleged assault occurred 24 years ago. Jay-Z is being accused of r*ping a 13-year-old in 2000, alongside defamed music mogul Diddy.
What he is alleged of doing to this young girl is heinous. I certainly want the truth to come out.
But I don’t know how I feel about allegations that occurred 20-plus years ago coming out today with the same veracity and freshness of something that just occurred this weekend.
It didn’t occur this weekend.
Granted, if this is true, it occurred when she was 13…truly a child. She has not been a child for some time now. Today, she’s 37.
