The Witcher 3 is one of the most detailed open world games ever made, even almost 10 years later, it really set a standard for all RPGs after it.
Here are 10 hidden & terrifying Easter eggs from TW3 that you probably missed. A Thread 🧵
1) Ghost Ship
Around midnight in this location in Skellige, you can come across an extremely rare Ghost Ship that hasn't been seen by most players, it is a bit bigger than Geralt's own boat and is definitely paying homage to the Flying Dutchman.
2) Ciri has been to Night City
Ciri has seemingly been to the Cyberpunk universe at some point, she describes it in a ton of detail in this specific dialogue exchange here, I still wish we got a nod to Ciri as a character in Cyberpunk via a side quest.
3) Killing too many cows
So a bit of context behind this one: Back in the day, there used to be an easy money-making method in TW3 where you could kill cows around towns, take their loot and sell it for a nice profit.
CDPR, instead of nerfing the payouts to fix this exploit, decided instead to spawn a massive infinitely high-level monster that absolutely DESTROYS Geralt in combat if you kill too many cows in quick succession
4) The Tax Collector
Added with the Heart of Stone DLC, the Tax Collector as an encounter occurs when Geralt comes into a lot of money a bit too quickly, he will proceed to ask Geralt about various money glitches and if he has engaged in them.
This is genuinely hilarious and completely fourth-wall-breaking and I adore just how serious this character seems

5) Tyrion Lannister
You can seemingly find Tyrion in TW3 who appears to have met his grisly fate in a sky cell similar to those in The Eyrie where he was imprisoned in season one of Game of Thrones.
6) Weeping Angels
In Velen, you can find the "Weeping Angels" statues (A Doctor Who reference) that change positions whenever Geralt looks away from them.
Encountering those at night is genuinely a terrifying experience.
7) Dark Souls Bonfire
In Blood & Wine during the "Beyond Hill and Dale" quest near the end of it after defeating the Cloud Giant Boss, you can find a Bonfire with a sword embedded into it.
An obvious reference to the Bonfires from Dark Souls!
8) DRM
Here's a hilarious bit, During the "The Tower Outta Nowheres" quest you have to de-activate the Tower's security systems to free this Mage.
The tower is outfitted with a Defensive Regulatory Magicon (DRM) and can only be removed using "Gottfried's Omni-opening Grimoire" (GOG)
This is a pretty meta joke on CDPR's anti-DRM stance with their own game launcher GOG.
9) War, War never changes
You can come across a Peasant who repeats the iconic Fallout line "War, War never changes"
The other NPC's response to this is equally hilarious "Neither do you! lazy as you always been!"
10) CD Projekt Red
And for the final easter egg, deep out of bounds in Blood & Wine lies a beautiful portrait of the entire dev team at CDPR who worked on this incredible title that has truly defined a generation ❤️
Can't wait to see what these guys cook up with TW4
Be sure to follow me for more threads like this plus thoughts, reviews, and so much more!
It's crazy how much was packed into The Witcher 3 considering it was CDPR's first ever open world game, there is arguably much more content here than there was even in Cyberpunk, and I can't wait to see how Witcher 4 manages to surpass both those games.

Red Dead Redemption 1 is 17 years old today, and it has aged like fine wine. this game completely blew my mind back in the day and was far ahead every other open world game.
Here are 10 Easter Eggs & Small details from RDR1 to celebrate its anniversary. A Thread 🧵
1) Beta logos
Red Dead Redemption's logo went through a ton of revisions throughout development, going from a more silly style to the iconic Marston font style that we know and love today.
What do you guys think of these beta logos?
2) Interacting with NPCs & Jack Marston L Rizz
By pressing B, you can interact and say hi to NPCs, this actually changes depending on your honor and it is way more aggressive if you're at low honor
Jack Marston has some particularly creepy lines towards women when he is low honor
GTA 4 is 17 years old today, and it is still more advanced & detailed than some games releasing today. Rockstar was so far ahead of its time its insane.
Here are 10 Easter Eggs & Small details from GTA 4 to celebrate it's anniversary. A Thread 🧵
1) Shady Websites
You can visit a website for “child beauty pageants” which instantly gives you a 5-star wanted level as it is a sting operation by the feds.
2) Explorable Hospitals
GTA 4 has some of the most detailed interiors in franchise history, including the only fully explorable hospitals in GTA.
Fingers crossed GTA 6 manages to match up in terms of interiors
The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is one of the most iconic and influential games ever and the remaster has done a remarkable job at enhancing all its secrets & easter eggs.
Here are 10 hidden & strange Easter eggs from Oblivion Remastered that you might have missed. A Thread 🧵
1) Todd Howard
If you write the console command "coc toddtest" on PC, you will be teleported to this random house with an NPC, if you interact with this npc, you'll find out that he is voiced by Todd Howard himself!
2) A sad troll
Under a bridge south of the Imperial City, you can find a troll who has failed at his one job and seemingly drowned itself, its suicide note reads:
"Mee wurst troll evurrnobuddy pay brijj tole me nott sceary enuf mee ett drunc an kil sellf
troll droun"
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest games of all time but it had some of the biggest content cuts during development ever including an entire SECOND open world.
Here are 10 giant pieces of cut content from RDR2 that are enough to fill an entire new game. A Thread 🧵
1) Mexico
Nuevo Paraiso was originally entirely explorable at some point in RDR2's development but was ultimately cut due to time constraints.
Nuevo Paraiso has all its roads and landscapes mostly developed if you head out of bounds, towns and more were also worked on at some point with unique banners and wanted level code all existing.
2) Arthur Morgan could explore New Austin
This was cut so late that there are still pictures in the menus of RDR2 of Arthur exploring New Austin.
Arthur has entirely unique dialogue when interacting with New Austin NPCs. He also has unique drawings on his journal for everything you can find in New Austin
Due to how late this was cut, the New Austin we got to explore in 1907 is actually the 1899 version, which has caused many continuity issues with RDR1.
