"Criticisms from the left that Bove is unqualified are ridiculous. Despite claims to the contrary, Bove has excellent credentials. In fact, Bove’s profile is right out of central casting for an appellate judgeship during Trump’s first term."
2/X: "In a few short months, Bove has demonstrated fortitude in the face of certain hostility from Washington elites and the legal profession writ large by enforcing a robust view of the unitary executive, downsizing the bloated and overwhelmingly left-wing career staff, and eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Dept of Justice."
3/X: "Ironically, Bove’s greatest sin appears to be a willingness to put into practice theories touted at many conservative legal movement events…
"This is what conservatives want, and this is what Bove has put his law license on the line to secure. If that all makes Bove a 'henchman', we should pray for a federal judiciary full of them."
4/X: "They say you can judge the measure of a man by the company he keeps.
"Two of the Trump admin’s bright young stars — @AFergusonFTC Andrew Ferguson and Acting Associate AG @ChadMizelle47 — have already publicly endorsed Bove based on actually working with (Bove)."
5/5: "Ferguson called Bove 'one of the most courageous lawyers in America' and Mizelle referred to Bove as a 'fearless, law & order conservative', which he would know from countless hours by his side at DOJ.
"@AFergusonFTC and @ChadMizelle47 are — as they say — 'men to follow.' If the endorsements Emil Bove’s nomination to the Third Circuit has collected to date are any indication of his judicial future, he will be a great judge."
Another example of federal overreach under the Biden-Harris DOJ: DOJ announces on the eve of the election, without consulting with state chief election officials, that it is sending observers to 86 jurisdictions in 27 states without bothering to check what state rules are for those observers. GOP state leaders have had to remind DOJ of relevant state law re: persons allowed in polling places. 1/ 5 x.com/CivilRights/st…
Virginia's response - DOJ observers have to follow state law. @GlennYoungkin 2/

“American elections are for American citizens and we intend to keep it that way.” @RepBryanSteil
@RepBryanSteil .@RepBryanSteil: “Non-citizen voting reduces confidence in our elections.”
Before diving into the text of the decision, it is important to highlight that all 9 Justices agree with the Court’s ultimate conclusion, even if there are 2 different concurring opinions. supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf…
The Court’s overall conclusion makes it abundantly clear that no state has the power to disqualify former President Trump—or any other federal candidate—from the ballot using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. supremecourt.gov/opinions/23pdf…
BREAKING: Reports that President Joe Biden will nominate D.C. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the vacancy left by Justice Breyer's upcoming retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Brown Jackson has also served as a judge for the U.S. District Court for D.C.
Brown Jackson has received extensive support from "dark money" groups who support radical ideas such as court packing.
By choosing Brown Jackson to fill the Breyer vacancy, President Biden has definitively chosen not to nominate someone who has bipartisan support, namely SC U.S. District Court Judge Michelle Childs.
.@SpeakerPelosi’s reported demand for universal vote by mail (VBM) is the hang-up on #COVID19 stimulus package. Not only is this a bad idea generally, but to rush nationwide VBM through in a huge stimulus package is a horrible idea. 1/13
Here is a tweet thread from a voting expert and a possible proponent of universal VBM who states there are “outstanding issues that absolutely must be addressed” before universal VBM adopted.”
A nationwide requirement for VBM would place enormous burden on states with low rates of VBM, requiring election officials to implement the ability to process large numbers of mail ballots in a matter of months, instead of the years normally required to set up a good system. 3/13
