We will be live tweeting day 2 of the final hearing of clinical psychologist, Dr Anne Woodhouse (AW), before the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) Conduct and Competence Committee in relation to posts on Twitter/X from 9.30am this morning.

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) alleges that she posted/liked or permitted others to post/like Twitter/X social media posts containing gender critical content in contravention of their social media policy.
The allegations arise from one Complainant, an activist in LGBTQ politics.

The police were notified of the matter, but confirmed they would not be pursuing any investigation. The HCPC have pursued a Fitness to Practice case against Dr Woodhouse since September 2022.

The posts complained of are:

1. “The majority of trans women are the result of men’s sexual fetishes, the rest are homosexuals who have chosen an alternative path. If you think anyone is born in the wrong body you have committed to a faith based religion. I prefer evidence based science.”

2. “Normalising sexualised behaviour around children is grooming. Perhaps not groomed for the drag queen but that drag queen has just primed children for the predator who also says this sex malarkey is fun, come join me”

The posts AW is said to have ‘liked’ are:
1. “There’s no such thing as a “trans kid”. Fight me”
2. "Trans reichs are human reichs”
3. A picture of rainbow flags forming a swastika

The HCPC states these actions amount to misconduct, and that AW’s fitness to practise is impaired as a result.

The tribunal is run by the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service, which makes independent decisions on registrants’ fitness to practise. Independent adjudication by the HCPTS means decisions are made separately to the investigation process carried out by the HCPC.

We are due to be starting slightly earlier than usual today because Storm Bram caused a cancelled flight for the transcriber and the automatic transcription and online access weren't sufficiently good to accurately record proceedings yesterday so the hearing was adjourned early.
