1/ Had great convos about crypto gaming this wknd with @smsunarto and @richardchen39; broadly speaking there are 1. Games with just on-chain assets (Axie) 2. Games that leverage interoperability in some capacity (webaverse/otherside) 3. Games that also leverage privacy/gamify
2/ the blockchain itself, like @darkforest_eth and @0xcurio. All were fundamentally bullish on crypto gaming, although had different visions for how it would be realized. Scott was more bullish on major Korean gaming companies integrating crypto horizontally using large, already

1/ Here I explore @nounsdao's potential to bring forth a new cyber civil society through the dual mandate of promoting both the principle of democratic governance and meaningful decentralization by leveraging the self-actualizing power of iconography. stanfordblockchainreview.substack.com/p/nouns-dao-an…2/ A quick abstract (of 10 pgs):
I will attempt to use a philosophical perspective to investigate Nouns DAO’s ramifications for civil society, community, and governance in the Web3 era. I conclude that NFT projects must engage in a painstaking process of world-building, placing

1/ What are the gigabrains talking about when they say P=NP—or, rather, P≠NP? Why is understanding this so important for crypto?
Here is a high-level layman's overview of the problem (pic related):
2/ First, let's assume you have 100 dinosaur bones that the natural history museum has tasked you to reassemble into a dinosaur skeleton. The task is very hard indeed; but, if I gave you a picture of the dino, you could at a glance tell whether or not it was assembled correctly.

1/ ETH merged! So what now?
Hear me out. Sooner or later price will move and people will begin to talk about a new narrative: ETH as one of the few deflationary assets in an increasingly (stag)flationary world. Here are my thoughts 🧵 2/ this narrative will emerge backed by the fact that 1. we had inflation rise 0.1% even with tumbling gas prices (which will revert in winter) and 2. it is likely the Fed will pivot at some point and soften their rhetoric

1/ One of the best-kept secrets in our industry is that China, despite its crypto ban, has a vibrant “NFT” market. These NFTs are like our JPEGs, save one key difference: they don’t live on decentralized blockchains. Read on for the insider story of iBox👇 medium.com/dragonfly-rese…2/ According to Statista, China is the country most interested in NFTs. Yet, instead of OpenSea, Chinese NFT liquidity is siloed among over 500 native trading platforms, including Alibaba’s JingTan, Tencent’s HuanHe, Xiaohongshu’s R-space, and many more. findstack.com/nft-statistics/

Welcome to the #bobaazuki winner announcement thread! I'm cutting right to the chase: in first place we have the amazing @phuncal with his animation, and in close second we have @jo12joc with his handmade graffiti! Congratulations to the winners! ⛩️🔥🔥
It was extremely difficult for me to pick 42 winners out of the sea of wonderful contestants, but when I saw Phuncal's animation, I knew instantly that it would take first. The quality of the anime is insane and it showed me a glimpse of what Azuki could be. Total Insanity.

1/ How can we formulate a framework to criticize and judge NFT art by learning from the great German Jewish philosopher and cultural critic Walter Benjamin?
A 🧵: 2/ Walter Benjamin thought that art criticism reflexively enriches both the criticizing subject (the castigator) and the criticized object (the piece of art). Both are transformed in the process toward truth. His thesis is mainly based on two Romantic ideas:

1/ been thinking about if there is anyway for NFT projects like @AzukiOfficial, @doodles, etc. to not get rekt by the space normalizing 0% royalties through @sudoswap and @Element_Market:
2/ as we all know the crypto space is mercenary capitalism at its best so we can't expect people to just give creators "their fair share" outside of like the 500 Fidenza art collectors (my response to @beeple' solution)

My thesis used to be that NFTs are ETH convexity; I still think it's true in the long term and on the downside, but in bears when ETH rips people take fiat notional profits which depresses jpegs. In the next bull imo when people chase risk, NFT will again capture upside convexity
clearly this is just a rough framework and needs tremendous amounts of data to back it up but wanted to dump it on bird app for checking back

1/16 How do you make sure you pick the best floor PFP for your favorite NFT project? The secret strategy is to reject the first 37% (or 1/e) and then pick the following best one. But why?
Buckle up🧵:
2/ First assume that you have an estimate N, the total pool of floors you could potentially buy from. Take @doodles as an example: we are restricted by hard limitations like the # of listings and your taste (eg. specific traits), but also by how much time you have to waste

The ontology of @CryptoDickbutts and why you're insufficiently bullish on them:
🧵 1. The universe makes no sense. here are three examples:
a. Aristotle pointed out that by asserting that all is true we assert the truth of the contrary assertion and consequently the falsity of our own thesis (for the contrary assertion does not admit that it can be true).

The good, the bad, and the ugly—an NFT degen’s deep dive into the value proposition of @0xmons' @sudoswap AMM🧵: 1. The new SudoAMM improves upon NFTX for both LPs and buyers through unlocking concentrated liquidity for NFTs by allowing pricing to be decoupled from pool reserves. Overall I think it's very cool and the comparison to uniswap v3 is apt. First, the good:

1/ I am delighted to announce that I have joined the @Theirsverse family as a gold member! Here is why I am excited for #Theirsverse: 2/ Though I am long-term super bullish on NFTs, it is undeniable that the quality of recent projects have taken a hit since the beginning of the deep bear market. I have made many degenplays, but, I haven’t identified a long-term hold until learning about #Theirsverse.

1/ Just got back from Orlando Disney World. I was thinking about NFTs the entire trip—Here is a thread on how NFT teams can embark on the road to Disney 🧵💫:
2/ Disney is probably the greatest entertainment company of all time, so we have a lot of catch-up. Over the past cycle, we saw that one main route to success for NFT projects was to become an entertainment company through first building a decentralized lifestyle brand.

2/ First, leaving ETH ecosystem entirely for Doodles2. IMO, due to the team's connection with @dapperlabs they would most likely move to @flow_blockchain, when in reality I would prefer @polygonstudios or @Immutable for example. Also, bearish on sidechains (@Ronin_Network)

Hot take: I think an overlooked utility for NFTs is some sort of cash flow. This will really incentive long-term holding and solve the liquidity problem. Yet, the problem is also super obvious with this form of deliverable: why should a project pay you to hold their token?
A solution is creating exogenous demand for the liquid cash flow token, like @CyberKongz's $BANANA. I think they were really onto the right idea and had good tokenomics, and if it wasn't for the over-promised and underdelivered game and the bear market they would do very well.

Are NFTs dead? I don't think so. A data-driven thread🧵
First, we must acknowledge that NFT prices are down drastically in USD terms—but so is everything else in goblintown. I am convinced, however, that NFTs will lead the next bull run, whenever that is. Take a look:
