Rose was born into a large Orthodox family. Her father, Solomon, was an accomplished tailor. Responsibility was thrust upon her as an innocent and wide-eyed 14-year old when she and her family were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau in April 1944.
Eva was the only child in a well-to-do family. Her father was a lawyer, and her mother was a doctor. Eva enjoyed the luxuries that life had to offer. At the age of twelve, her life changed forever when she and her family were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Aga was born into a poor family in 1926, in a small village in Austro-Hungary. Aga was one of seven children. In 1944 she and her family were taken to the town of Mukachevo. Shortly after, they were loaded into a cattle train and sent to Auschwitz.

Dov Landau was born in 1928, the oldest of 4 brothers. When war broke out, and the Nazis occupied Poland in 1939, Dov was eleven years old, Nissan was ten, Yosef was eight, and Naftali, the youngest, was four. Dov tragically lost his entire family.
Meyer was born into a religious family. His father was a rabbi and came from generations of rabbis before him. Meyer was extremely close to his father, accompanying him to surrounding cities before the Jewish holidays and other occasions.
Frieda was born into an observant and loving household, the youngest of six children. She enjoyed a normal and happy childhood in Łódź, where she attended a Jewish all-girls public school and dreamed of continuing her studies to pursue accounting.
Jona was 9 years old when Germany invaded Poland in September 1939. Jews were to identify themselves with a yellow badge and could not be on the street after 5pm. They were not allowed to attend school. Signs in all social places read, "Jews and dogs are not permitted to enter."

On February 10, 1930, Michael was born in Grudziadz, a small Polish town. He was the youngest of 4 children, with 2 sisters & an older brother. Although the family was from Łódź, they moved to Grudziadz for better financial opportunities before Michael was born.
Tory is a high school teacher from Salt Lake City. She teaches history and social studies at Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah. She has been teaching for 15 years and has a B.A. in History Education and a Master’s Degree in American history.
