Who'd like to end their week on a good feeling & help a group of predominantly #Native kids (mostly #Cherokee) in NE Oklahoma?😄 We all know Oklahoma schools are way underfunded, so field trips are few & far between. My mom teaches 7th/8th grade language arts at a rural school... in Delaware County. She loves to read & introduce her students to classic authors, short stories & experiences they wouldn’t normally get in a small, rural school 60+ miles from Tulsa. Over the summer she found a theater company that caters to school field trips stopping in Tulsa

I’m speechless.
1. As an informed tribal citizen, I only found out late this afternoon there was a proposal to contract a private prison 6.5 hours away near Waco, TX to take tribal prisoners.
2. Our tribal council took <25 minutes to approve the plan.
I understand there are countless challenges with McGirt/Castro Huerta. But the fact that there is ZERO citizen input on major issues that impact SO MANY ppl is beyond frustrating. Whatever happened to community meetings/citizen input? 🤯 This doesn’t feel like a democracy anymore

Why would Cherokee Nation put this on Facebook then restrict commenting? Lol… I’m going to guess a $500K fine 🤑 & 2 years in prison for ppl (not candidates & not JUST Cherokees) over a simple campaign violation feels Putin-esque 🇷🇺 even to the executive & legislative branches. Keep in mind we don’t have political parties or issues-based campaigns in the Cherokee Nation. It’s literally just person to person matchups. So this is saying the ONLY way to put $$ to a political effort in ANY way is to put $ behind a PERSON. Which a lot of ppl don’t want to do

No COVID testing available for days around Tulsa… except at @MuscogeeNation’s Council Oak Comprehensive Health Center!! I love that there is FINALLY a tribal health center in Tulsa! There hasn’t been a big enough deal made that it’s the 1st ever tribal-run health clinic in Tulsa No dissing to @ihcrc. They do amazing work as an urban, non profit Indian Health Care Center. But @MuscogeeNation’s Council Oak Health Care Center is the first health facility run by a tribe in Tulsa. Otherwise, Muskogee, Ochelata or Nowata are my closest Cherokee Nation clinics.

This is the new rallying cry from racists who are very good at manipulation, to ppl who are 1. easily scared of what they don’t know or 2. feel uneasy about what they consider a rapid change in the way we’re supposed to talk about diversity & the consequences of getting it wrong.
