#IPCC SYR Figure SPM.6 visualizes how climate actions (or inaction) can help shift development pathways towards sustainability. 🧵1/5 Climate Resilient Development (CRD) means integrating measures to adapt to climate change with actions to reduce or avoid greenhouse gas emissions to advance sustainable development. Very proud to have led team developing #IPCC SYR Figure SPM.1, released today, which shows how current and future generations have different experiences with climate change. 1/4 I was born in 1980 and have already experienced more warming than my parents had by this time in their life. My kids’ future could have even steeper warming, and the extent of this change depends largely on climate action (or inaction) now and in next decade. 2/4
