(1/n) In light of recent discussions regarding the threat posed by Islamic State's affiliate in Afghanistan (Islamic State Khorasan) - reposting some of my recent pieces on the group on the group, which discuss its strategy & tactics as well as strengths and weaknesses:

#Afghanistan: Vast majority of "ISK-linked" individuals killed in #Nangarhar, ~91% of 11,668, and ~63% of 696 captured. Immediate provinces around Nangarhar saw substantial manpower losses too (Kunar 3% of total killed, 10% of total captured; Kabul 13% of total captured) 2/4
