A Northern Nigeria revolution that needs to happen immediately is 'A janye lefe kuma a janye Kayan daki da Gara'. It will mark a new milestone for marriages in the region.
Let new couples start thier lives based on their realities not that of their parents.
Millions of Naira is spent on clothes that are too much for the new bride, renting houses that are too big, furniture/kitchen utensils and foodstuff that is too much for two young people just starting their lives and mostly done by indebted parents.

A VILLA OR A GILDED CAGE?
We were discussing the Afaka girls abduction in my house. Someone asked "Is Buhari aware of all this?" Another responded "He is at the villa". My 11 year old daughter raised her head from her book and asked "Mummy is the villa a prison for Presidents"?
We were surprised & laughed at her random expression but it did make me ponder that in her innocent mind she had come to understand that Mr President has no power to control or stop the abductions because he is locked up somewhere in a prison of sorts.

THE FAILED WOMAN
Where does the concept of the failed woman stem from? Society needs to redefine what failure is and women especially need to redefine success or failure while making decisions that put them first.
From the beginning of time society has groomed women to be & praises the good 'homemaker'. Homemakers are submissive women who support their husbands, take care of the home, raise good well behaved daughters who don't question their place & 'strong' sons to provide for the home.

The Arewaa man incurs no loss in the expiration of the marriage contract. His house remains intact because whatever you brought as a bride must have been replaced in time & he deems it his including the kids & emotional investments. After decades you'll leave poorer than you came
As a new bride you furnished the whole house with your beauty and material possessions you brought with you. You journeyed together for years motivating, praying, advising, supporting & encouraging the man to reach the peak of his career or trade.

Love & affection among siblings should be encouraged as it opens the heart to love & empathy which future spouses will gain from. Notice the hard looks on the faces of those Arewa men whose wives are dancing ( I don't support those videos though) the men look very uncomfortable.
This is a resultant effect of a culture that limits every affection to the bedroom & is the reason why many marriages fail. People find it difficult to display affection even behind closed doors because rigidity is so much entrenched in our hearts.

Arguing with a few people over the ASUU/FG crises just exposed the ignorance of issues within Nigerians. These same people who never care to just read backgrounds, purpose, press releases or explanation of issues come here to act experts.
In blame ASUU for a very poor sensitization/PR to the Nigerian people. Simply believing Nigerians will comprehend is not enough. Nigerians always need bombardment of information to realise things. I decided to address this today seeing the lack of understanding everywhere.

Someone sent me this Report from Kano. The report is fair but I am still curious: 1) Why did they resort to an online survey when many of the cases may not be within highly exposed circles. 2) Putting pressure on government to do the right thing is not fear peddling. KSG was Lax 2) I wonder why they are hammering on a Post mortem. We know #Covid19 is highly infectious. @KNSMOH & the @ncdc should prioritise relatives of the dead as a target testing group. Don't wait for them to become asymptomatic or die also before taking action.
People are uncertain.

#COVID19InNigeria; TIME FOR SOBER REFLECTION
A crises is most times an eye opener to certain gaps that many of us see & talk about but get attacked & shut up. COVID19 has exposed our failings & inadequacies as a nation which I hope we will address WHEN & IF this is over
Our first failure as a nation is the allocation of meagre resources to Education & Health which has worsened over the years and is on the verge of collapse while foreign countries remain the major education & healthcare centres for the political class, elites & their families.

THE PROPOSED MUSLIM LAW
The #Arewa streets are hot once more over a post @FakhuusHashim on the proposed family law. I wanted to stay away in peace after all the energy spent over the #MSII saga.
For many of us however, we can't help but access and contribute to situations.
For one to have an interest in the family law, you have to first be a Muslim. Your Islamic faith can never be complete until you totally submit that the rules of Allah SWA and that of his messenger SAW are paramount & unflawed even if you are deviant.

After years of conservative, self enriching, crumbs giving, status quo preserving, Sharia lying, your Excellency touting, decorative traditionalist #Arewa leaders the North is only regressing dangerously more than ever before. It means that was a clearly wrong leadership formula.
Today here comes those ready to defy the old system, stamp with iron shoes, call a spade a spade and nudge towards the necessary and very important #ArewaRevolution which has to be by us for us.

I have always felt there was more to Maryam Sanda's case. I thrashed her case objectively after the murder and got a backlash. I know some women are evil, yet I felt women just don't kill spouses & heartlessly stab the father of their child moreso when there is no monetary gain.
According to the law a crime can be either Mallum probihita ie because it is wrong in the society or Mallum in se ie The act itself is evil.
Murdering Bilyaminu falls into both categories, it is an evil & prohibited act punishable by very stiff penalties globally.

EARLY MARRIAGE IN NORTHERN NIGERIA
A few years ago, a robust #ChildNotBride campaign raged in Nigeria following Senator Bakuras new marriage to a 14 year old until it fizzled out in time just like every other Nigerian issue does.
I was on the side that defended early marriage 🤭.
Yes, the very controversial Binta defended early marriage & Bakuras choice to marry that girl. Was what I did then Islamic or cultural? Looking back at me then & where I am now, I will say it was cultural.
I was just another person with socially inherited perceptions & sentiments.

GLOBAL DEHUMANISATION OF MUSLIMS
Since time immemorial Islam has alway been viewed as a threat to other religions. The recent influx of Muslims to the west & rise in number of western reverts seem to have instigated the salient clampdown into a globally accepted genocide.
The western strategy of searching for never to be found weapons of Mass destruction in predominantly muslim nations has succeeded in destabilizing most of the Middle east which is responsible for the large number of migrants aiming for the west.

I am identified with fighting for women but today my steam is on the girls.
Somebody needs to let them know that they are a disappointment.
When we advise you not to be silent we didn't mean throwing all sense away. The blatant shameless vibes coming off Arewa girls is appalling.
Your TLs are filled with self marketing. Who told you a woman's purpose for survival is approval of men. How many of those commenting on your hips, butts or fine faces can add any quality to your life? Are your confidence levels so low that you need continuous online validation?

Okay here I come @One_Sexy_Missus & co.
My MCM Emir has ruffled the feathers once more & as expected the dragging begins.
Yes! His highness has demystified that age old royal stool by refusing to be mute in a society bedevilled by all sorts of vices but hell bent on silence.
A silence that has sustained an artificial normalcy within and outside the region. A silence that has stalled any form of criticism within & outside the people.
Many ask he is more audio than active. You want to see him build classrooms and sponsor 100 girls abi?

I am listening to 103.1FM in Kaduna right now & one Ustaz Adam Zaria is trying so hard to convince people against @elrufai on the basis that for a deputy he took a woman who is not allowed to be part of governance but to stay at home. I am sad that in 2019 we are still debased.
Why have the Ulama refused to teach us about strong women who lived during the time of our Nabiy SAW instead of persistently pushing the rhetoric of the blessed secluded homemaker or the irresponsible street monger? Why are girls not taught about these women as inspiration?
