This government has criticised civil servants, teachers, nurses, archbishops, judges, business. They took money from the poor, exclude self employed from support schemes, demonise foreigners & those fleeing war. They underfund education & allow excrement in our waterways.
They raised taxes, broke the pension triple lock and a commitment to foreign aid.
They voted to break international law & to rip up the parliamentary rule book to save a friend.
They deliberately conduct business by WhatsApp so it can’t be scrutinised.

Younger & lower paid workers, for whom buying a house is a pipe dream with our massively distorted housing market, will pay more tax so that older people, who had free Uni and have property, don’t have to contribute more to their care.
Actual reverse Robin Hood territory!!
Just spread it fairly and evenly for God’s sake. Let’s ALL share this problem, why is that so hard for this government?
Put a bit more on income tax and capital gains tax. It will also be less cost for everyone if we all chip in.
Thatcher sold off council houses, a bedrock of how things had worked, for quick gain & without a care for the long term consequences.
Boris is doing the same with political integrity, dispensing with it to get around his lies but this will have long term impact after he’s gone.
We had low turnout & engagement rates as it was but he is doing real damage and I truly fear for democracy in this country (as well as so much else) If people don’t trust their politicians and we all finally realise there are NO decent systems to keep them in check, then what?

Project fear - a media friendly term which at one stroke, mocked the expertise of those at many of the coal faces of Brexit and dismissed it with a sneer. Yet, just 9 days in, it looks very much like project fear predictions were true and should have been heeded.
Thread
Project fear was not a myth. It was the truth.

Today, on Valentine’s Day, I’d like to talk about a different love, the love of grandparents as today my grandmother is being buried in Normandie. She didn’t want a fuss , so I’m not going, but I’d like to share a little of her, she was one of the most wonderful people I’ve known
She would have been 95 this year and until a few months ago lived independently, still growing most of her own vegetables, cooking for herself and looking after her beautiful garden.
She was the most loving, kind and happy woman and made you feel important and loved.
