More likely than not, Mets sign Correa. Their owner takes risks; the team is good; Correa's good friend is the SS; as far as we know they have a pending deal.
At the same time, Correa was ready to be a Giant a week ago. If Mets back out of 12/$315M, SF definitely still possible.
It's not like Correa should feel too offended by what the Giants did. The Mets have now done the same thing ... with an offer $35M shy of SF's.
The big question, to me, is whether SF even believes he's worth signing at this point. All of this is moot if they don't.

How this works with Correa: if the Mets wanted him for 12/$315M, it'd be done. Correa was obligated to those terms after agreeing to a deal pending a physical. Clearly the physical didn't go well, since there's no finalized agreement. Unclear where things stand now, but... (1/7)
...we're now four days post-Mets physical. The #SFGiants had about one day post-physical before Scott Boras told them he needed a decision on whether they were going to honor their 13/$350M agreement (that was pending a physical). Deadline passed, and Giants said no. (2/7)
