Progressive candidates had a great election night. I want to thank everyone who got out there and helped make this happen. There will now be more strong progressives in the U.S. House than ever before. I’d like to quickly highlight a few of them. Let me congratulate @SummerForPA on her resounding victory in Pennsylvania's 12th District. Summer ran a great campaign and withstood an onslaught of outside money from billionaires. She will be a great congresswoman for the working class.

Over the last few years, the people of this country have sent some incredible candidates to Congress. They are working every day to build a nation that works for all of us. Today, I’m proud to announce my support for their reelection campaigns. Congresswoman @AOC has been a fierce champion for the working people of NY-14. She is an inspiration for millions of young people who understand that if they are going to have a bright future, they must be engaged in political struggle. I’m proud to endorse her for reelection.

Putin is not only an autocrat who initiated an illegal & immoral war against Ukraine, he's the leader of an oligarchic kleptocracy that's stolen billions from the Russian people. In Russia, ordinary people struggle while Oligarchs make out like bandits – which they are. (1/14) Incredibly, the 500 richest people in Russia with a net worth of at least $100 million now own more wealth than the bottom 99.8% of Russia’s population - 145 million people. This is the type of inequality that exists not just in Russia, but throughout the world. (2/14)

For whatever reason, there are pundits out there who say we should compromise even more and cut back on addressing the long-neglected problems facing working families as well as climate change.

REALLY?

Please tell me where we should cut. Should we end the $300 direct payments to working class parents which have cut childhood poverty in our country by half?

Is it acceptable to you that while 2 people own more wealth than the bottom 40% in this country, half our people live paycheck to paycheck, seniors are unable to hear or to see the world around them, and new moms are guaranteed ZERO paid days to spend with their baby? To me, that level of inequality is morally unconscionable.

Now is the time for legislation that says yes, in the richest country on the face of the planet, seniors must be able to age with dignity — we must expand Medicare to cover hearing aids, dental care, and eyeglasses.

In just two weeks, New Yorkers have the chance to elect candidates who understand that working people are hurting and the time is now for New York City’s government to represent ordinary people and not just the 1%. For New York City Public Advocate, I'm proud to endorse @JumaaneWilliams who is a tireless fighter for working people.

I am on my way to Kentucky to give a major address at 2:30 p.m. ET about the future of our country and the choices we have to make. The vision of Sen. Mitch McConnell and the Republican Establishment versus that of the Progressive movement could not be clearer. We want a government that represents the needs of struggling working families. McConnell wants a government that does the bidding of the wealthy and large corporations.

Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, is the wealthiest person in the world and the company has tens of thousands of workers in fulfillment centers all across the country who are working at a breakneck pace to fill and ship orders. In 2020, Amazon made $14 billion in profits during the COVID pandemic, but decided to stop paying hazard pay to workers. During that same time, Jeff Bezos saw his wealth grow by around $70 billion.

Given the enormous economic desperation facing working families in this country today, I can't support this proposal unless it is significantly improved.

Despite strong Democratic opposition, this proposal provides 100% legal immunity to corporations whose irresponsibility led to the deaths of hundreds of workers. It would continue to provide a get-out-of-jail free card to companies that put the lives of their workers at risk.

We must do everything we can to ensure @JoeBiden wins by the largest possible margin. We also must consider what happens if Trump loses but refuses to abide by the results and does everything he can to hold onto power. First, with the pandemic and a massive increase in mail-in voting, state legislatures must take action to allow votes to be counted before Election Day. We must avoid a situation where battleground states are counting millions of votes for days and weeks after Election Day.

Let the prebuttal begin! Watching Trump tonight will be hard because you just can't keep up with all the lies. But I will be watching and live-tweeting, hoping he will apologize to the American people for his #PromisesBroken. Trump promised to provide health care “to everyone,” yet has tried to throw 32 million people off their health insurance. Today, millions more people have no health insurance than when Trump came into office. #PromisesBroken

I will be introducing legislation tomorrow to tax the obscene wealth gains billionaires have made during the public health crisis. What I think many people do not fully understand is that not everyone is hurting in America. Not everyone needs the Senate to act.

Last night was full of incredible victories in our movement for a more progressive America.

In St. Louis, @votegardner2020’s re-election means she will continue to fight to hold police accountable and end mass incarceration. The people of Missouri voted to expand Medicaid, saying clearly that nobody should go without health care. The grassroots movement to guarantee health care as a human right for all is growing.

Progressives are on the move. Reps. @RashidaTlaib and @PramilaJayapal last night won landslide re-election victories, and @CoriBush scored an incredible upset win in Missouri. So what do these victories say about the current moment? All across this country, from coast to coast, people are standing up and fighting back — not only against Trump, but for an agenda that works for the working families of this country.

I want to give you ten reasons (and there are many more) as to why, together, we have got to do everything we can to create the largest voter turnout in history and send Trump packing. 1. Donald Trump is, at his core, an authoritarian leader who does not believe in democracy.

I'm proud to endorse @TJforVermont's re-election campaign for Vermont Attorney General so that he can continue to fight against the greed of the pharmaceutical industry, a ban on life without parole and expanding the practice of expungement in Vermont. As Auditor, @douglashoffer has never been afraid to ask the tough questions and follow the facts. I am proud to endorse his re-election campaign because he has always, and will always, fight for all Vermonters.

During the pandemic, while a record-breaking 5.4 million Americans lost their health insurance, UnitedHealth—one of the largest health insurance companies in America—made a record-breaking quarterly profit of $6.6 billion. While 28 million Americans are in danger of being evicted from their homes and thrown out on the street, JP Morgan Chase posted a record-breaking $33.8 billion in quarterly revenue.

As we celebrate #Juneteenth today and commemorate the abolition of slavery in the United States, we face a transformative moment for our nation and our world that cannot be ignored. Today is an opportunity to confront the systemic, institutionalized racism at the heart of America, as we see unprecedented levels of protests and activism across the country calling for an end to all forms of racism and violence toward Black Americans.
