Brexit was a shit idea, sold via lies and deceptive dark ads by the million, and as a consequence people voted for it, at the same time voting to lose their jobs and livelihoods, and make themselves and their children financially and culturally poorer.

MPs voted it through. And there is this...

Covid in the UK.

Thread.

It’s not going well. But why?

1/37 Let’s look at the beginning. Horrendous stories from Wuhan. A first big European breakout in Italy in April 2020. However, they found Covid in water samples taken in DECEMBER in Italy, so the awful death rates in Northern Italy in April had been developing for 3-4 months.

A year ago we left the EU, but the real impact of leaving will only be felt from tomorrow.

1/13 Although the ‘deal’ includes tariff free access to the single market and customs union – it still destroys friction free access to the EU markets, which will destroy many UK businesses and cost many UK jobs.

EU lorry drivers from Germany, Eastern Europe, and across the EU drive in the EU.

They avoid travelling to third countries because delays at the border are very expensive.

Some do, if they are paid more. But only a few.

1/ There was a reason why EU lorry drivers were not availing themselves of the opportunity to find out what Brexit means as far as driving to the UK was concerned.

What has Brexit flagged to me?.... that there is a group of people with a phenomenally developed capability to talk and write. Who are looked upon by many as gurus.

Thread.

1/31 Sages. Marvellous individuals. People with drive, gusto and personality. Who are wheeled out into the bright lights of the TV cameras and repeatedly the demonic nature of their lies are hardly questioned.

Peter Geoghegan’s superbly written, nuanced account of why the UK is currently is where it is.

1/5 And yes, the book does highlight the ways in which the Remain campaign failed democracy, and used unfair and deceptive means, as well as the multiple Leave campaign groups.

Muckspreaders.

And the anti-mask protests in Parliament square.

Thread.

1/28 The heart of the UK popular press has been about muckspreading.

News of the World being perhaps the worst example.

Serfdom of the mind. Thread. Russia in the time of St Peter the Great sowed the grains for the Russian revolution. The ‘success’ in wealth terms of that period was never surpassed. St Petersburg being an enduring legacy. However was a success built on the model of serfdom.

The problem with our Govt is that it is one with no intent. It is shallow, reactive, thoughtless, paranoid. The members of cabinet are extremely low grade: the argy-bargy nature of the second hand car salesman / con merchant being the highest ‘skill’ to which they can aspire. Above all the UK Govt is delusional and dysfunctional. It has given up the powers of effective rational thought, due diligence, respect for the law, and replaced it all with bone headed rhetoric. Delivered in person. And via Govt media outlets, online and via MSM.

#NoDealBrexit What does it mean?

Thread ....taken directly from the unredacted YellowHammer report.

"On day one of No Deal between 50-85% of HGVs travelling via the short Channel Straits may not be ready for French customs."

How angry does Matt Hancock intend to make people?

How stupid does Matt Hancock think people are?

'Completely' must be the answer to both. Corona Virus spread disastrously due to

(1) large gatherings & late lockdown
(2) doctors surgeries not closing down
(3) non Covid wards having no PPE (Covid19 was in circulation, most NHS staff who died did not work in Covid wards)
(4) really stupid people ignoring the rules

Just an idea - often the narrative that get's out is the exact opposite of what was either the truth, or what was initially intended.

If anyone has any examples on this theme, please share.

Below - a first example.

#PRGoneWrong King Canute got a bit tired of his subjects thinking that he, as king, had God like powers.

As a very effective example, or so he thought, to clearly demonstrate the extent of his power, he sat on his throne on a beach and commanded the tide not to come in....

Is it possible to get Dale to understand that we have not left in name only?

We have given up all our negotiated rights, and exceptions, for our access to the EU for nothing.

We now have to negotiate a new agreement with no leverage.

There is a transition agreement. Yes..... But Dale harps on about fish...

Interesting point here is that we blame the opposition for the Conservative election victory.

Corbyn and Swinson could almost have been working for Johnson in their incompetence / strategic stupidity.

However the manipulation is far more significant This twitter account has covered the issues with dark ads, troll farms and MSM false narratives - in particular with this thread of threads here:

However, this video makes the points more succinctly, in only ten minutes:

Awful irony is that the reasons why people can no longer live in the countries they are fleeing is because of historically bad decisions / practices by western powers re Iran, Iraq, and Syria etc.

If the US had not set up Madrassa military training schools in Pakistan for.... ...young Muslim 'holy warriors' to fight the Russian's in Afghanistan, Al Quaeda, then the Taliban, then Isis might never have been a thing.

If Blair had not fallen for the weapons of mass destruction dossier (which included reference to weapons that only exist in novels)...

A Conservative MP has one objective: to get into power.

Any lie, any nonsense - it will all be fed.

Just to get into power.

But once in power, the gears change.

The Conservative MP is then driven by betrayal.

Betrayal of every assurance.

Every benefit.

Every advantage..... That was sold.

Car manufacturing: we will let that be destroyed.

Food standards: we could not care less.

Farms: oh, we will destroy them by not letting them be able to sell to the EU on one side,

And, on the other side dumping vast quantities of abysmal standard shed grown...

With Cummings perhaps on a knife edge of being forced to resign, but even in that event, will likely continue to operate behind the scenes, what is this all about?

1/13 Well, it’s about No Deal Brexit. The one that everyone was promised would never happen. And, unless these people are stopped, it 100% will happen. END OF JUNE is the last opportunity for the UK to extend transition from Dec 2020.

Is the pen is mightier than the sword?

A thread to give the journalists who still aren’t with the program a bit of a nudge. This is serious. This is our country…..

1/46 This incompetence is destroying our health, food security, social structure… as well as causing 50,000+ deaths of our loved ones.

Had we emulated New Zealand or Greece these deaths would not have happened.

“Into the valley of death rode the 600.”

600 of Britain’s finest cavalrymen, and the press went ballistic, at the stupidity of a poorly expressed order.

1/24 However it was just a poor communication. The intent was correct. The Turks were stealing British cannon at the end of a valley.

“Get the guns!”

#CoronaVirusUK

A thread.

1/13 One strategy that countries adopted for the Corona Virus is to contain it. Stop it from spreading. China, with draconian measures, has achieved this. Once a virus is contained, it can no longer spread. It simply dies out.
