In the absence of a federal response, @MayorBMScott made the incredibly hard but necessary decision today to close indoor dining and place new COVID-19 restrictions on our City. I wholeheartedly support his executive order. While the vaccine is a light at the end of a long, horrible, not quite structurally sound tunnel - we aren’t there yet. My office has heard from residents facing eviction issues this week. While most rental housing legislation is state law, here’s what we are telling people about rent & eviction: (1/ of many breaking down bit.ly/2CGXb4f) An eviction moratorium began on March 25th. It ended on July 25. Since 7/25, the courts have been processing failure to pay rent cases pending or already authorized prior to the March 16th closure of the courts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MD State Board of Elections is a government agency, one that is supposed to be responsible to all Marylanders, even those of us in Baltimore City. First, we were told that ballots would be mailed on May 1st. #thread Then we were told that parts of Baltimore City, Baltimore County & Howard County would have their ballots mailed in May 8th, supposedly because the 7th Congressional District had just had a special election a few days before May 1st and the BoE wanted to avoid confusion.
