This morning, I was invited to the policy session of @FAOLivestock's annual meeting with delegates from 40 countries hosted this year by @agriculture_ie. I was pleasantly surprised by constructive, honest discussion & reception to my own comments, also shared in this thread 👇 @FAOLivestock@agriculture_ie Unlike other livestock related events I've attended, it was refreshing to see clear agreement on the climate science and role of methane in contributing to global warming and the need to reduce these emissions. 1/X

Thread: Ireland's #ClimateBill amendments are finally published with a press conference taking place on @RTENewsNow momentarily. Having painstakingly cross referenced this Bill with the original 2015 Low Carbon Development Bill, my initial thoughts 👇

Four big changes... 1. The good news – New Bill leads w/ much more ambitious 2050 target (climate neutrality) legislated for AHEAD of EU’s own plans to raise climate ambition. In legal terms, this puts IRK in climate leader category instead of laggard (on paper anyway).
