that contribute to unhealthy diets." Meat/dairy/egg lobbyists have a stranglehold on federal politicians, so this is a fairly bold statement.

I've heard from a LOT of animal lovers who are considering voting Conservative for the first time after @erinotoole made a campaign announcement about banning puppy mills, cosmetic testing, and some other animal issues. To be sure, this isn't enough. We need legislation to crack down on farm & transport cruelty, etc. But to the best of my recollection, this is the first time EVER in a federal election campaign that a major party has made an animal protection announcement. It's a big deal.

We’ll know soon. #cdnpoli First Conservative amendment proposed seems to be at the behest of the Vancouver Aquarium, to deal with motherless whales that are found and may be rescued. Liberals vote against and it is defeated.
