On Aug 11, 2022, Former Education Minister Dustin Duncan was quoted in CBC saying private schools in Sask didn’t need to report criminal investigations or charges. This is false. The Min of Ed on at least two occasions, told Legacy Christian Academy they had to report. #skpoli FOI shows two documented times the Ministry told Legacy they needed to report misconduct of “teachers” & police investigations or complaints. Former Dept. Min Cheryl Senecal wrote a letter Aug 31, 2011 and current Min of Ed consultant, Anna Grumbly on Feb 12, 2015. #skpoli

Did you know that a member of Christian Centre Academy(Legacy/Valour), Chris Gerrard, was appointed to the Ministry of Education by Grant Devine’s gov, after he sued the province for the right to pay his property taxes to Independent schools in the province, and lost? 🧵

It was tested in court, and the courts found that education money should not be going to Independent Schools. So what did they do in response? They thought they would try not paying property tax, and claiming that the church and school were one entity.

The @SKGov put Legacy/Valour Academy on probation in May of 2023. They have breached the conditions and our legal team sent a lengthy letter to the Min of Ed in July 2024 outlining those breaches. #legacyofabuse 🧵 This is the response the Ministry of Education gave to our legal team, the long and short of it, stating they are compliance. But they aren’t, and @PremierScottMoe and @SKGov is covering up for them.

The original entity was started in July of 2023 by former Vice Principal and long time “teacher” at Legacy, Marg Wiggins. The address they originally registered it under is the building City Centre Church (Jim Randall) owns, their former Lifeway Bible college location.

Here’s a copy of the 1995 Education Act. Christian Centre Academy was considered a Registered Independent School in 1996/1997. They became a Qualified Independent School in 2011. “Every pupil is subject to the general discipline of the school. (1), discipline must not include the use of any of the following a strap, cane or other physical object”

Here’s what I don’t like, fundy QIS schools blatantly lying on their website. Here’s Prarie Christian Academy. They advertise 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Here’s a list of the “teachers” from 2021-2022 school year. Only 2 have the ability to register with SPTRB.🧵

The regulations since 2011 have stated that QIS schools need to have a certified professional teacher as the Principal. Rene Boutin was the “Principal” at PCA for 10+ years until last year. @SKGov does not have the ability to regulate Private Schools in Sask. #skpoli

Sharing my experience w/ CLSD @ MSS is. I applied for CLSD for the 2nd time. This is the letter I received back. I took my son out of the province for his FASD diagnosis in 2019 to the @LakelandFASD He received 3 diagnoses, w/ 18pg report-all submitted with the application.

He received his diagnostic assessments by a team of professionals from @LakelandFASD. The team meticulously put together an 18-page report which was provided to MSS. The 2 docs, SLP, & OT signed the report. My son meets the requirements of CLSD, by a landslide.

So what’s in these reports? Here are some pages of the reports about Legacy and what’s in them. These reports were written by Min of Education staffer, Mike Walters. 🧵 While Mile Two/Legacy has tried to trick the public with the ole “but we’ve changed” schtick, we can see from the admin reports they are still suspending students for what they do at home, or on the weekends. Completely against the policies in The Education Act. #legacyofabuse

The people of this province should be asking Min Duncan, why was the Administrator at Legacy Academy removed in January and given a promotion, after he told former students it was his belief the school should be shut down. #legacyofabuse 1/2 staff who were conducting these “fluff” inspections (🚫3/year) since 2011 when QIS schools received your tax 💰is still employed. One has retired. If the Admins report from 22’ has the same problems as your inspection from 11’, the gov has turned a blind eye deliberately.

It’s been 500 days since I made my criminal complaint to @SaskatoonPolice about the pre-rebranded @miletwo_church, Christian Centre Academy & Christian Centre Ministries. 🧵#LegacyOfAbuse As a student group, we decided to go public to the media in August w/ the help of @WarickCBC.
