πβοΈ From Sketch to Photo in Midjourney ποΈπ
Creating a sketch of an interior design and bringing it to life is something many people would love to do.
But how exactly do you get your sketch into Midjourney?
Here's an approach that will help you keep things consistent.
π§΅π
This thread by Nick raised a lot of questions in the comments.
Was this a real sketch?
How did he keep things consistent?
Some essential context is missing.
This isn't the exact process Nick used but it's similar and produces the same output.
I realize I haven't been pushing out as much content recently.
It's mostly because I've been working my butt off on my course content.
Hope it will get better once things calm on.
It's always tough juggling between so many different things.
- Social media
- Recording YouTube videos
- Building your full course

π₯³ My YouTube channel recently hit 50,000 subscribers
When I started in December 2022, my initial goal was to hit 1,000 subscribers by the end of Q1 2023. π€£
But it turns out YouTube is both a BLESSING and a CURSE.
Here are 10 things I have learned in the past 6 months.
π§΅π
1 / Just f***ing start!
You wouldn't believe for how long I had been thinking about doing this.
I was strategizing the hell out of it.
But that's really just another form of procrastination.
Just start publishing and figure it out as you go.

β¨ Releasing a new video tomorrow...
As many of you know, I've started to release this new video format more frequently.
The ready-to-use prompts that many people share with you on Twitter are nice.
But is that really the best way to learn?
π§΅π¬
The main idea behind my "Watch Me Prompt" series is to let you look over my shoulder and understand my thought process.
Since these are improvised prompting sessions, not everything always works according to plan.
So in that sense, they're very similar to real-life situations.

Not really a big fan of Anime or Manga π€
But I've been hearing quite a bit of chatter about it recently.
So I was curious what the new Niji styles look like.
π§΅
Let me give you a quick recap first.
You can trigger the latest Niji algorithm by adding "--niji 5" to your prompt.
That will use the default Niji styling.
However, there 3 more preset styles that you can use:
--style cute
--style expressive
--style scenic

Knolling just never gets old.
Probably one of the easiest high-impact prompts in Midjourney.
Huge perceived ROI for beginners. π
As you can see, being specific about objects is quite important.
So don't just say "photography gear".
Say what type of gear.

It's just unbelievable how Twitter is full of people who simply aren't capable of giving credit when they use a process they took from someone else.
This is less than 12 hours after the release of my video on YT and thread on Twitter. Even shares the ChatGPT prompt with my exactβ¦ twitter.com/i/web/status/1β¦

ποΈ π Emulating Artist Styles (without their name)
I know that this might be controversial but I'll show how you can replicate an artist's style in #midjourney.
I know what you're thinking:
Easy! Just add the name to the prompt.
Sure, but this is different.
π§΅π I'll explain
What's different about this is that I tried to achieve the same or similar outcome without referencing the artist's name.
That's right, the prompt doesn't include any direct reference to the artist.
And yet, the style is so damn close.

πΊ New Video Tomorrow
Curious to see how people react to tomorrow's thread and video.
I personally see 3 potential reactions...
π§΅π 1. Some will be intrigued by the underlying questions 2. Some will think it's pointless (e.g. waste of time) 3. Some will be snarky, pointing out how these models were originally trained

π Looks like people love Multiprompt Image Blending!
Previously, when you hit a dead end with regular image blends, it could be a bit frustrating.
But now, there's an alternative path that you can take.
I improvised another example for you today.
π§΅π Check it out
During lunch, I took these 2 random images.
1. A bottle of Singha Soda 2. "The New Map" by Daniel Yergin (I highly recommend!)
If you're wondering where I took these, I'm on Koh Samui right now.
Many of you have come to know and love the /blend command in #midjourney.
But it doesn't always do what you want and often contains malformed objects or artifacts.
Luckily there's a better way to blend now!
π§΅π Let me explain...
I found these 2 images on Unsplash and wanted to blend them in Midjourney.
1. The first one shows an elegant hotel lobby. 2. The second one is a photo of the Royal Greenhouse in Laeken (Brussels)
And of course, Midjourney will oblige.

πΆοΈ Alternative prompting methods spice things up!
As you probably noticed from my recent threads, the world of prompting #midjourney is much bigger than just additive prompting.
Don't get me wrong, additive prompting is a core skill.
But there are so many other methods!
π§΅π
This weekend I'll be sharing 2 methods that are relatively new.
In fact, I'm pretty sure very few people have used these methods, let alone shared them publicly.
Partially because they weren't possible before.

ποΈ Another example of Layered Multiprompts
Looks like many among enjoyed yesterday's thread about this advanced method of prompting in #midjourney.
It's also a method that isn't talked about very often.
So I figured, why not show you another example?
Let's dive in.
π§΅π
My objective is to create an image of an elegant businesswoman standing on a New York City street, surrounded by massive highrises.
However, I explicitly want to avoid realistic photography.
So I start with a relatively simple prompt.

π A quick intro to Layered Multiprompts
Most of you are probably already familiar with multiprompts in #midjourney.
But have you ever used them to STACK LAYERS of concepts like painting on canvas?
No? Well, let me show you how it's done.
π§΅π
We start off with a very basic prompt for our first layer.
Imagine you're adding a base layer onto canvas, similar to painting the rough edges of the landscape and sky.
We're just describing a very simple scenery.

πΏπ¬ Today I created a storyboard for a movie.
I asked #ChatGPT to help create a storyline and scenes for me. I then used #Midjourney to bring these scenes to life.
The story is called "Echos of Tomorrow". It's a story about the survival of humanity after the apocalypse.
π§΅π
π The plot:
In a post-apocalyptic world, survivors discover a hidden bunker containing the key to rebuilding civilization. They must navigate danger, overcome adversaries, and learn to trust one another to ensure humanity's survival.

π¨Simple concept blending is underrated π€
Decided to play around with #midjourney's /blend command a little bit. In many cases, taking different generated concepts, blending them together, and then stacking them delivers outstanding results.
