Correct us if we’re wrong (really) but it seems like the UK fiscal debacle seriously undermines the case for #MMT -- a 🧵 1/19 #MMT has always had the problem of “what it says that’s true isn’t interesting, and what it says that’s interesting isn’t true.” Yes, it’s true that a government can’t default on debt denominated in a currency issued by that government. 2/19
