Good morning and happy Thursday to all!

I'm gonna take this moment to share with you all some songs that I've fallen in love with over the years that I think you all should know.

Let's start with Houston's Bubble Thomas and this magnificent work of art

Here's a song I used to play out in my sets a lot. It's a collaboration between Sabu Martinez and Sahib Shihab and this song is a great one for the dance floor. Here's "Arroz Con Leche" - I love it!

Rest In Power to the great James Mtume. The South Philly native & prodigal son, Jazz ROYALTY (the son of the great Jimmy Heath) and music trailblazer & pioneer. His passing is truly a monumental loss. Let's look at some of Mtume's music and legacy through the years, as a THREAD: Mtume played on his uncle Tootie Heath’s album “Kawaida” in 1969, alongside his father Jimmy Heath as well as Herbie Hancock and Don Cherry. Here is “Kamili”

THE FIRST TIME I MET DOOM.

It’s weird telling this story about THE FIRST TIME I MET MF DOOM because I don’t think I’ve ever spoken about it other than in passing or word of mouth so sitting down to write about this considering that he’s gone just has me all sorts of fucked up. But just to get this goddamned year wrapped up and behind us I’m gonna talk about this.

GOOD MORNING TO NOBOY EXCEPT THE ISLEY BROTHERS. A THREAD

I woke up this morning to see The Brothers Isley were trending on Twitter and then I saw why so although I'm busy this Monday, you definitely messed up if you think I'm not gonna take the time to speak on this real talk. Someone out there said Isley Brothers don't have 20 hits in regards to being on #VERZUZ going up against The Elements but I'm not even gonna talk on that cause that don't mean anything. What I am gonna talk about is how we have a living group that has done so much for so long

THEAD: I’d like to talk about a place & some people that are really special to me. I’ve been a DJ for 30+ years and have traveled the globe having played in countless venues. But there is ONE venue that has always been near and dear to my heart, and that is @HifiClub in Calgary Many years ago @SmalltownDjs & @smalltownpete threw the popular party "Hai Karate" at a club called The Night Gallery in Calgary. This party became so successful that Pete & Mike took the brave leap and opened up their own venue. And thus, the legendary @HifiClub was born

HI YALL!

Here's a thread of some really great rap records that many may have forgotten or maybe some never heard in the first place.

Let's start with Latee from NJ / Flavor Unit. "No Tricks" was always one of my favorite tunes.

Next is Philly's Robbie B & DJ Jazz. Jazz was my homeboy and put me up on a lot of the tenants of the record digging game. This one is "From The Heart Of South Philly"

The world of music has lost one of the greatest of all time.

Philadelphia has lost a native born legend.

A family has lost a brother, father, husband, uncle.

Rest In Paradise McCoy Tyner. Your legacy and impact has made this world a better place. Thank you so much 🙏 Here are some of my favorite works that McCoy played on. Let's start with the lead song off his 1967 "The Real McCoy" album, "Passion Dance". As a kid I use to listen to this song incessantly

Hi @SNICKERS - Cosmo here. Hope everyone on your team is doing well on this Tuesday morning. I’m doing fine, thank you. And although I don’t really have the time today I think that I’ll make the time for you. Please read along and maybe float this up the flagpole.:. @SNICKERS First let me state that I’m addressing this as someone who’s a working DJ - and now that may sound like a misnomer because too often there’s an erroneous misconception of people within my field as being lazy or not actually holding a real job but I assure you it’s hard work
