Just heard the station announcement at Wynyard about masks being mandatory or a fine applies, while about 80% of people have no mask on. Then I attend a medical facility where neither admin has a mask on, none of the patients do and the workers have surgical masks. 1/15 Now thing is, I'm not angry, though I should be (but at who specifically?). I've recieved a lot of replies saying masking has failed to contain spread. I don't buy that. Because plenty of examples show how masking reduces aerosolisation and spread. This helps! 2/15

Travelling in the time of covid, a 🧵:

Flying to Bangkok via Singapore, I was anxious about covid safety. Chose Singapore Airlines as they went early on all staff being immunised, and I know Singapore is strict on having all your documentation in order. Sydney airport was much quieter than I had ever experienced, but still not as quiet as I thought.

The biggest line up was checking in, as even before that they will check you have all your documentation in order

The line up for COVID-19 travel express testing at 630am. Left line for people flying today, right for those not flying today. This isn’t the regular test clinic, this is the paid travel test. #CovidTesting #PCR #Sydney Behind me. I had only been here 10 minutes at this stage.

Why it’s hard to get a booster dose 🧵 @NSWHealth @healthgovau

1) again, shift in date sprung on us without a heads up to order stock or prepare staffing. We can't administer what we don't have 2) change fortnightly ordering of multidose vials to more ad hoc- was always going to be hard to know what we needed when demand was lower - easy to under order or over order out of fear in rule changes in a fortnight

GP Vax Rollout 1/8
To help vax rollout, we need help from a bigger group of ppl. Final year nursing, pharmacy, paramedic etc students should be allowed to help with drawing up of doses in the GP setting under supervision from a regstd health prof. @brookmanknight @healthgovau GP Vax Rollout 2/8
