Hi everyone I'm Andrew Forrest & I'm here to save the day

I hear people are getting cranky about inaction on #ClimateCrisis so I did a #BoyerLecture making whacky claims like hydrogen cars being part of the future

I might be rich but I'm an "Aussie Battler" just like you!

1/15 "While net profit after tax continues to elude @Tesla it has a market value of over $800B it's major climate innovation is only a battery that runs on whatever fuel is in the national grid instead of a fuel tank. I think the real climate challenger could be Fortescue"

I've recently called many Australian politicians "climate deniers"

This sparked Mark Spencer from @climacticshow to launch pilot podcast "Degrees of Difference"

Community climate organiser Asher Coleman & I had a great discussion about how we approach climate activism in Aus. We discuss growing up in regional Australia as well as the political & media failures to tell the truth about the climate crisis.

We also discuss what the definition of "climate denier" really is.

Thread of screenshots tracking @ScottMorrisonMP's "comment to like" ratio.

Morrisons posts never get "ratioed" because "likes" are artificially boosted (bots) as comments grow.

Number of comments never exceeds likes.

This thread shows screenshots of this.

1.7k : 1.7k

1/9 1.8k : 1.8k

You'll notice with the PM's posts that he never gets proper ratioed because as the comments start to soar the bots kick in and keep the "comment to like" ratio 1 or less.

1.7k comments is a huge number of comments btw. 1.8k : 1.8K

Did anyone else watch @qanda tonight & think wow... this is some serious bullshit.

Thread.
On an episode about gas and climate:

1⃣ #qanda failed to mention the $400k in donations that the gas industry has paid to the Liberal party over the last 2 years. 2⃣ #qanda failed to mention anything about the fact that the NCCC board has multiple representatives of the gas industry on it.

What if the Australian Government took over the shares of every company on the Australian stock market?

Australians would become shareholders in every company.

These companies would have to act in the public's interest & the private sector would be democratised.

Thoughts? Any other ideas or thoughts on how we get our major companies acting in our interests and the interests of the greater good?

Basically someone high up at News Corp and someone high up at Nine Fairfax is telling there journalists not to run stories on @JohnBarilaroMP's recently exposed corruption.

They are also telling their journalists to run attacks pieces on @friendlyjordies.

Fair assumption? *Their (for all the journalists reading this) 😉

Former Australian Defence Force Chief Chris Barrie, Former Air Force Dep Chief John Blackburn, as well as @JohnRHewson, Ian Dunlop & others articulate why climate change is Australia's biggest security threat.

A must watch. Everyone needs to see this.

Question to @ASIOGovAu & @AusFedPolice.

If climate change is the biggest threat to Australia's national security as articulated by former defence chiefs, are you investigating the close links between the coal, oil & gas industry & the Australian Government?

And if not, why?
