A THREAD 🧵- We have a VERY IMPORTANT special election in Ohio on August 8. The key vote is on Issue 1 which would require a 60% majority to get a Constitutional Amendment. Our GOP leadership is scared than a "pro-abortion" amendment will pass in November. 1/? After the SCOTUS struck down Roe, signatures were gathered to put a Constitutional Amendment on the ballot to support abortion rights. Almost twice the number of signatures necessary were gathered. Since 1912, Ohio has only needed 50% +1 majority to pass an amendment. 2/?

As someone old enough to remember the "Free Mandela" & "End Apartheid" movements and participated in those marches, Biden was one of the first & few Senators who listened to our voices to end apartheid 1/? When looking at a situation, you have to look at the times in which the situation occurred. Reagan, who was the mold of from which Trump was made, would not even listen. I'm about to sound tf off! For the 2nd time in a week, I have been called a "nigger" in a professional setting. And for the second time in a week, I have had "mental illness" used an excuse for this behavior. Addiction, bipolar disorder, anxiety, etc. doesn't make you racist 1/? But ok, I do deal with a certain population, but the issue I have is with the white people around me. It lets me know what they think of me when they say NOTHING. #BrettKavanaugh is going to be the next SC Justice. Conservatives are smarter. They could think the long term and so-called Progressives were on "I hate Hillary". The GOP doesn't care about losing the House & the Senate in 2018 when they will have a Justice for 40 years. Progressives had 11 months to know conservatives were going to hold up Merrick Garland's spot on the SCOTUS. What conservatives would have done is made sure they got the House & Senate in 2016 along with Dem President. But progressives are incapable of thinking like this. 2/?
