Comparing Gemini Pro to GPT-4 for the prompt:

"Write python code for a genetic algorithm that does neural network architecture and hyperparameter search for a ViT based computer vision classifier."

👇 ♊️ GEMINI:

Link to chat:

My analysis:
- Not a long preamble.
- It used a genetic algorithm library for python "deap".
- It parameterized a good set of hyperparameters for the vision transformer, particularly patch size which is crucial. g.co/bard/share/980…

More and more companies will start posting jobs for “prompt engineers”. Fortunately you don’t have to be smart to be a good prompt engineer, the smarts are what’s generated by AI! You just need to ask if the right questions in the right way. Giant new industry with skill levels. Prompt engineering is inherently a creative endeavor. Those clever humans always adapt and find new roles as tech improves…

All of Earth will be involved in terraforming at some point. All political discourse will shift towards terraforming as their base topic for their silly social issues, you just wait, I know I’m right. Right now the political topics focus on trannies and AI and censorship. These topics aren’t going away but will be drowned out by the next topics future generations will start caring about. Think further ahead than next decade, anon.

Tonight we code. I have GPT-4 open on another monitor and it's basically faster for me to ask it questions than searching google or stackoverflow. Image

At this point I’m just asking GPT-4 to just teach about more about the inner workings of neural networks and how to modify them. Nice recursive feedback loop. This seems, to me, to be the most intelligent thing I can do with this new technological marvel.

I love the environment and want to live in harmony with nature and preserve our trees and forests.

I also think climate fearmongerers are manipulative, exploitive, selfish cowards who have no idea what will actually move the needle in saving the planet. Lol at my plastic straws and paper towels and car emissions having any real effect compared to you assholes destroying a football field worth of trees every second in the Amazon rainforest. Please fact check me. Don’t make individuals feel guilty when the real culprits go free.

Do you all remember when btc hit $60k and the timeline was filled with crypto stuff and you couldn’t talk about anything else without getting drowned out? I personally love crypto as a dissident, but I always was aware that any trending fad in it was just that. Buy low sell high. The problem with it wasn’t that crypto was being touted as an anti authoritarian movement, for that I always believed in.

The issue was that when it was at $60k everyone said buy more, that it was taking over the world. And if you thought otherwise you were a hater.

I’m trying so hard to integrate into society and want the same things they do, to focus on their riches and indications of success like an M&A…. but there’s something deeper I’m here for, something alien, holding me back from just jumping back into society. I can’t describe it.. I’m not aligned.

One of the worst things that could have happened for race relations was making everything about race. Hot take: skin color shouldn’t matter.

The hypocrisy must be exposed. Are the people who manipulate you shameless? Yes, yes they are. They don’t care if they’re contributing to a lack of integrity in the culture, they’re getting their paycheck. These people should be identified and held accountable. They are individuals with names and addresses and they’re manipulating you.

Getting a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at 26 taught me how rife academia was with confirmation bias and cherry picking results that support a hypothesis to increase chances of more funding, how few “scientists” use the scientific method.

Those who play the game get the funding. Made my cynical af.

If you're not actively playing with the latest AI tools yourself (ChatGPT & Midjourney & StableDiffusion) you're falling behind.

Welcome to the world of tomorrow, today. Trust me, you don't want to form your opinions on these tools from second-hand reports.

They're egalitarian and really easy for everyone to get their hands dirty with.

The woke idea of “straight white men have been in power for so long that it’s our turn!” is staying within the same paradigm and actually is quite racist and sexist by prejudging people on race and sex. It’s just trying to swing the paradigm the other way instead of transcending the whole thing. I have no respect for that.

The Pillars Of Creation are the engines inside the Eagle Nebula pumping out new stars.

The new James Webb Space Telescope got an extremely high resolution view of them this year.

Beautiful. ✨ The landscape of the Carina Nebula:

I remember an after party of a wedding last year, and a group was passing a joint around.

When it got to me, the lady paused, said, “Wait are you vaccinated.”

Me: “No”

She gave me a look of pity and said, “sorry” and the whole group turned their back on me like a bad sitcom. There’s the tweet, I knew I posted about it at the time:

What’s funny is if you were on the fence about the vax, all you had to do was wait a year or two to decide if it was right for you and you would have made a more informed choice. It was pressuring people to get the vax NOW that was the problem. People should have felt ok waiting. The level of propaganda shoulda triggered your spidey senses that something was odd. It did for me at least.
