I sent these tweets from bed this morning...and I've have a few more thoughts as I've read media reports and Twitter...so a (long, probably too long) thread. My opposition to the biennial World Cup concept does not come from a protection of the status quo. I am the first to say that what got us here is not going to be what gets us where we need to go. Reform, I'm on board. Evolve or die, right?

Cap-tying players is not a recruitment strategy. They need to feel the #USMNT 🇺🇸 is the best choice for them, the only choice they want to make. That’s only possible if you have systemic Latino inclusion through the program and the Federation. Berhalter’s answers to questions on this seem to reflect he gets that.
