I feel like there is a special strength one enjoys during housemanship because, how can you do 72 hours back to back without sleep in paediatrics, with up and down runnings, take samples, retrieve investigations, assist exchange blood transfusion and do other....
Ridiculous things like giving IV drugs, even changing IV fluids because the consultant doesn't trust the staff on duty to do it right, or in Neonatal ward where someone will flush yellow cannula in a 5 hour old preterm with 5 mls syringe filled with 5% Dextrose water... Sigh

All healthworkers need to always remember what an awesome privilege it is that we have. It's a privilege to know what to do to help another person live much longer than they could have if untreated. A rare privilege. #AllLivesMatter
Sometimes, the client recovers completely. We must never get conceited regarding these things, it's a privilege still and must be regarded as such. #Stayhumble #Staywise #AllLivesMatter
