I’m going to the #EnoughIsEnough protest tomorrow.

A patient today - an NHS worker - was forced to pull together savings to seek private healthcare because he’d been waiting too long in pain. It felt humiliating. My colleagues are leaving, this work is unsustainable and draining Meanwhile, the government makes concessions for their friends - with the taxes we pay - for the ultra wealthy, the shareholders and banks, while our public services which have been eroded for 12 years meet their ultimate tipping point

My friend who's not on twitter found James Stephen's grave - the leading abolitionist lawyer who drafted the Slave Trade Act 1807

The grave was covered in moss & the inscription hardly visible, so he went back today, scrubbed it down and painted in the lettering 💪🏽 He said "as we finally reach a stage where statues of those who do not deserve to be celebrated are taken down, we need to think about those we want to celebrate. For abolitionists, we should also ensure that this includes the many POC and women who did so much for the cause"
