I've been contemplating what I could learn in August that would change my opinions about my IDP ranks in recent days. I thought I'd have one thread per division done by now, as August just started.

First, the app formerly known as Twitter is a good place to start. LOTS of observations about personnel packages and who's playing ahead of whom. Less about player alignment lately. Beat writers are prohibited from tweeting that as of a couple years ago. 😢

The phrase "rookie corner rule" has popped up in my thread a few times recently. To my understanding, it's a #FFIDP platitude whereby a rookie CB will be tested by QBs and see more action, resulting in more opportunities for INTs, PBUs, and tackles of receptions allowed. (1/4)
Two sharp #FFIDP analysts whose work I admire believe Jeff Okudah could "benefit" (i.e., attract more targets and/or score more fantasy points, at least early in 2020. Two more analysts, whose work I also admire, refute the existence of the "rookie corner rule." (2/4)

The stereotypical dichotomy is the big slot vs. the 3rd-tackle. A look at snap % that a TE plays scratches the surface of understanding. Eric Ebron and Hunter Henry line up in the slot most of the time. At the opposite end of the spectrum? Tyler Higbee & Vance McDonald 🤨 (2/8)
