Some reports claim it's no more deadly than flu, but they don't tell you the cost of keeping Americans alive.

TX - $75 mil / day
FL - $65 mil / day
CA - $60 mil / day
GA - $21 mil /day We report 7 day new cases / million (Normalized Case Rate)
&
Normalized Case Rate Slope (NCRS) which is the average rate of change for the week.

On 5/1 Hawaii had an NCR of 15 and and an NCRS of -2.5. All seemed good!

Wrong!
Their NCRS was rising and crossed 0 by 6/13.

South Korea was hit earlier.
Spain was hit harder
Thailand and Japan learned and were hit less. Thailand and South Korea are examples of good responses.
The left hand graph shows new case rate/mil.
The right hand is the value of the slope of the left.
If new case rates are dropping, it's in the green zone. Rising, red zone.
Stay deep in the green as long as possible = win.
