Thread! On trying to make better sense of the Obi-Datti policy document, I tried to first of all do a juxtaposition between the initial draft that was released and the new one. I discovered that indeed there were some similarities and of course some tweakings and improvements.

INEC has always been the major problem of our elections and our democracy by extension.

There's a report making the rounds by Bank of America suggesting that Naira at a CBN rate of about N435.06/$1 is currently being overvalued at over 20%.

What were their indicators?

1. The widely used black market rate.
2. The CBN Real effective exchange rate (REER). 3. Currency fair value analysis.

Further projections from the report suggests that even at this, the Naira is expected to weaken by an equivalent amount over the next 6-9 months, taking it to about N520 per USD at the official CBN rate.

So what are the implications?
