At long last, we have the Executive Order that paves way for a new EU-US data transfer deal.
It's a positive step but likely not sufficient to guarantee rights and ensure that the future deal holds in front of the EU court.

This EO means progress. The fact that the US signed such a document is a positive sign.
But some of the shortcomings identified by the EU Court with the previous deal require legislative action in the US, in particular to ensure access to remedy.

Access to data protection remedies through DPAs is a core element of the enforcement of the GDPR, but how is it working in practice?
This study looks into practices of several DPAs to assess:
- how easy is it for people to file a complaint
- how DPAs are dealing with complaints
