At long last, we have the Executive Order that paves way for a new EU-US data transfer deal.

It's a positive step but likely not sufficient to guarantee rights and ensure that the future deal holds in front of the EU court.

Here is why: 🧵 This EO means progress. The fact that the US signed such a document is a positive sign.

But some of the shortcomings identified by the EU Court with the previous deal require legislative action in the US, in particular to ensure access to remedy.
