A list of facts Senator Tuberville hasn’t bothered to learn about the United States military would take years to compile.

Meanwhile, here’s a short thread on why Coach’s concern regarding “illegal immigrants with weapons” serving in the military appears to be misdirected.

As there’s chatter from the Right about paying “unemployed veterans” to protect schools, I thought I should throw this out there:

Not all veterans are now or have ever been proficient with firearms or law enforcement tactics.

A few personal anecdotes and observations:

In Navy boot camp, we were required to fire .45-framed .22s; not for qualification, but—I’m guessing—as an introduction to firearms handling and proficiency.

My unit didn’t do this, as our company commanders considered it a waste of time.

North Carolina Lieutenant Governor @markrobinsonNC is not only unapologetically making a beeline for the NRA trough in Houston this weekend, he also serves on the NRA’s national outreach board.

#ncpol In Robinson’s prepared statement, he offers zero solutions to the gun violence problem. Image

Three government contractors were recently indicted for making contributions to Susan Collins’ campaign.

When Rick Scott and Marco Rubio received tens of thousands of dollars from a contractor, they passed a bill to benefit his company.

The indictment of Collins’ contributors cites 52 United States Code (USC) prohibitions against contributions to federal campaigns by federal government contractors, and the 18 USC (criminal) “straw donor” contribution prohibition.

Republican NC State Rep. Jeff McNeely proposed an illegal audit of a blue county’s voting machines eleven months after the election, citing “many, many millions of accusations" of "machine tampering and votes being switched because of modems.” Durham’s Rep., Zack Hawkins:

“The people in Durham County take elections very seriously. You are not welcome in Durham County, and I'm not sure if you want to step foot in Durham County and try to inspect the machines. You will not be greeted as liberators, let me be clear.”

Is now a good time to take a look at #Facebook’s VP for Global Public Policy, Joel Kaplan; his connection to William Burck; Kaplan’s and Burck’s connections to Lindsey Graham—and how all three connect directly to Brett Kavanaugh?

We’ll start here:

(1/) On second thought, maybe we should start with Senator Graham’s performance during Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing. Keep this image in mind while reading the rest of the thread.

Did Mitch McConnell just mention Democrats, ports, and China in the same sentence? Is it my birthday?

It seems like a good time for a history lesson on Mitch McConnell’s connections to China, and to port funding.
(1/) Here’s a partial quote:

“…Democrats have taken our roads, bridges, ports, airports, and waterways hostage to ram through an historically reckless taxing and spending spree that would hurt families and help China."

When DeJoy was elected Postmaster General by a board whose members were all confirmed by Mitch McConnell, Elaine Chao’s brother in law made a $26.8M XPO Logistics purchase for his hedge fund—its first ever XPO purchase.

Yesterday, his fund reported $45.3M in XPO stock.

The hedge fund’s $26.8 million purchase of XPO Logistics stock occurred between April 1 and June 30, 2020.

The USPS announced that Louis DeJoy had been unanimously elected Postmaster General on May 6, 2020.

I recognize three Onslow County Board of Education members, none of whom are wearing masks. This aligns with the “masks are a personal choice” policy they’ve mandated at all county schools for the upcoming school year. witn.com/2021/08/05/ons…

In 2015, McConnell reported that his wife earned $50,001-$100,000 from her investment in said brother in law’s Caymans-registered offshore fund. I think it’s safe to say that they’re familiar with the hedge fund.

The population of Onslow County is ~200,000, and only 38% are fully vaccinated. This news should be surprising to no one. Over the past two days, two people I personally know (one vaccinated; one unvaccinated) have tested positive and are symptomatic, and my wife knows the spouse of one of Onslow Memorial’s 25 COVID patients. The Delta variant does not mess around.

Here’s Wyoming’s statutory definition of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Wyoming has no statute of limitations for this crime.

A person convicted under this subsection is subject to imprisonment for not more than 20 years. “Being seventeen (17) years of age or older, the actor inflicts sexual intrusion on a victim who is thirteen (13) through fifteen (15) years of age, and the victim is at least four (4) years younger than the actor;”

Anthony Bouchard admitted he was 18, and his victim was 14.

Regarding Brett Kavanaugh’s association with the Federalist Society:

During his April 2004 confirmation for the DC Circuit, he told Senator Durbin that FedSoc “does not take position on issues. It does not have a platform.”

I think he lied.

(1/10)

@gregolear
@LincolnsBible judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…
Kavanaugh’s response seems disingenuous, as ten months before he made that statement to Durbin under oath, he’d received an email—at his White House account—from FedSoc’s Joel Pardue. The subject was “Tasks.”

Congratulations to the three elected officials—and the two appointees—in tight Senate races who recently secured tens of millions of dollars in DOT grants for their home states. Some received their grants after contacting Secretary Chao directly. (1) Coincidentally, the campaigns of four of these Senators—Gardner, McConnell, McSally, and Tillis—received $50,000+ in independent expenditures from a McConnell-aligned Super PAC just before Trump’s Senate trial.
