In the House of Lords, academies minister @dianabarran says in light of 'strength of feeling' about the #schoolsbill, she intends to 'clarify and confirm the government’s position' at report stage (supposed to happen next month)

Although @TheIFS confirms govt’s claim that there will be 50k net increase in number of pupils eligible for free means, it says this figure hides “winners and losers”. E.g. although 210k who didn’t get FSM before will now get them, 160,000 will lose eligibility
