I have deep respect for ⁦@TomJPyle⁩ ⁦@IERenergy⁩ and have been critical of potential coordination between the commission and WH - BUT - I truly do not believe ⁦@ClementsFERC⁩ did anything inappropriate here. ⁦ foxnews.com/politics/biden… @FERC commissioners take meetings with numerous stake holder groups. It does not appear that Energy Foundation had any contested pending business before the commission. Giving high level views and not opining on specific matters is acceptable.

There’s some really good clean energy policy in this bill. But if we want to seriously address climate change AND lead the world to do so, then U.S. solutions must be bipartisan and durable. By avoiding Republicans through this partisan path, Dems have also avoided stability. This should have and could have been bipartisan. There were a number of Republican Senator at the table with @Sen_JoeManchin this spring. They walked away because he wouldn’t abandon the partisan reconciliation approach, and they were right.

.@FERC has a lot to be proud of in the 11 months since a quorum was re-established in August 2017. Among the most significant achievements is the approval of a number of major #natgas #pipeline projects & BILLIONS of cf/d of new capacity. Many of those projects had been waiting for an exceptionally long time.
