Ok then. Milk update. Today was 1-1 after extra time, and there was some shirt-swapping, although it would be hard to describe the encounter as a ‘friendly’. Thread… We set a multi-tiered approach in place last night. First off, another camera. The doorbell has its limitations. But we’d got two lots of footage already. What we really wanted was 1. Our Milk and 2. For this to stop. ⬇️

Yesterday, I caught one of Rhoda’s schoolmates studying the Onderwater. Not for the first time. ‘Do you want a ride, mate?’, I asked. Suddenly, this boisterous little ball of trouble wasn’t so sure of himself. Hid behind Grandma’s leg. I asked if he’d like to make an appointment. Cautiously, he stuck his head out and nodded, slowly. ‘OK, let’s do it tomorrow, then. Pinky promise?’ - his wiggled his little finger, back at me, his face turning to a smile, and then a quizzical expression. ‘Grandma, does it still count if your pinkies don’t touch?’ #Covid19UK

Disappointed by @NorthantsPolice this morning. I am not a huge fan of e-scooters but seeing the zeal of this pair picking on this lad this morning, has made my mind up about them. The scooters, that is. A little thread... @CHAIRRDRF This is all about context, team. This junction’s right outside a school. That’s a toucan crossing, heavily used at this time of the morning. Those are Zig Zag lines, and that is a Police car parked not only on them, but obstructing the footway. Blue lights on. It must be serious.

Ruth’s gone to an outdoor gathering to say goodbye to the school she hasn’t attended since March. They’re sat in a big circle like a well-spaced AA meeting.
I remember standing here on the class’s first day... 1/2 The children who were badly behaved that day, are misbehaving. Those whose mothers put on ridiculous performances with wailing and gnashing of teeth, are wailing and gnashing their teeth. It’s like watching an episode of ‘Child of our time’. 🤣

Hello! We’re the Jones family from Northamptonshire. Lots of parents and children are getting (back) on their bikes at the moment, so for #BikeWeekUK we’re joining @WeAreCyclingUK for #7DaysOfCycling to show you just how much a family can do on two wheels! Join us on this thread! We took up cycling as a family when we realised we’d stopped riding our bikes ‘because children’ - and quickly discovered that with the right equipment, and the right ideas, we could go far. Since then, we’ve ridden all over 🇬🇧 , elsewhere in 🇪🇺 and even appeared on TV in 🇺🇸!

THREAD 2/3 - it’s finally here! *The Anatomy of a Close Pass - reporting and response*
We learned in the last thread ( close passes aren’t funny. Now we’re going to explore what happens if you have filmed, and try and find some redress. First things first. In this case, the local force was Devon & Cornwall. Not unreasonable therefore to tweet them and ask if we can send them our footage. This is the point where you discover that lots of policemen do what would get most of us sacked - using their employed status to tweet personally.

THREAD #1/3: The anatomy of a close pass...
12 August 2018. En route to John o’Groats, our family were on the A392 leaving Quintrell Downs, near Newquay. It turned out to be the day everyone was going home from the ‘Boardmasters’ festival, and traffic was heavy. Despite the magnitude of the event (we now discover!), and the predictable weight of traffic leaving Newquay, with many vehicles loaded to the gunwhales, there was no sign at all of any road policing presence in the area. (Image from a subsequent D&C Police email!)
