How can ONE 12-word seed phrase contain more bitcoin keys than all the stars in all the galaxies? Class is in session.

The keyspace within a single BIP39 mnemonic is absolutely mind bending. Let's start at the seed and to climb the tree.

Level 1: The Master Seed
If we create a Bitcoin seed phrase and load it into a wallet, we find we can create 4,294,967,296 (2³²) bitcoin addresses, each with it's own unique keypair.

When I made an offhand comment that "𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐬 obviously not 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢."

I had no idea how controversial this was going to be!

This sent me down a wild rabbit hole of mathematics, coding, encryption, and economic theory.

In researching this thread, I;

🔎Watched some podcasts featuring author Brian Solstin, as well as read his book, “Bitcoin and Nash Equilibrium.”

🔎Read an article by Jon Gulston "19 Reasons Why John Nash is Satoshi"

🔎Read anything I could find on Twitter related to Nash and Satoshi.

🔎Looked at Nash’s work directly:
 ◦ 2002 academic paper
◦ "Ideal Money & Asymptotic Ideal Money"
 ◦ 2008 lectures
 ◦ 1954-55 NSA letters & academic papers
 ◦ A sample of C++ code presented as Nash’s work.

I began doing some research on this chart for a sculpture and ended up blowing my mind a few times.

Did you know that all John Nash's math in the movie "It's A Beautiful Mind" was handwritten by one of the authors referenced in the Bitcoin Whitepaper?

I found a lot more too, wanna dig into some obscure Bitcoin history? Let's go! Before we jump into movies, let's start at the beginning...

I cross-referenced the timeline graphic with the references in the Bitcoin Whitepaper, and the first thing I realized was...for a timeline of Bitcoin Prehistory; it only contains 3 of the 8 foundational documents underpinning Bitcoin, but also gets the date of one wrong..."Don't Trust Verify", amirite?

(this graphic has @adam3us hashcash as 1997, but the Bitcoin Whitepaper has it referenced as 2002.)

Also the 1st date in the "timeline" is 1974. Earliest paper referenced in the Bitcoin Whitepaper - 1957.

I think the graphic is very powerful, and in fact it inspired me to incorporate some of this history into art. It drove me to dig deeper, so I'm not hating on the graphic at all...just walking you along my mental path.

I got to visit The Coral Castle the other day, it's a modern-day megalithic structure built in secret at night by one man who claimed he knew the secrets of how the Egyptians built the pyramids. Let's jump into the Mysteries of Coral Castle the Number 21 and #Bitcoin. Built in the 1930s and 40s in S. Florida by Ed Leedskalnin, and much mystery surrounds its purpose, creation, and message. Many doubt it is possible that such a megalithic structure of solid stone could be built by a single small man. Sounds a little like the Legend of Satoshi...

I'm a little overwhelmed with the super powers that AI gives you. Just generated 210 Bitcoin taproot vanity keypairs, converted them to 630 QR codes that are organized and labeled using self sovereign software I wrote with ChatGPT for a graphic novel I wrote with Midjourney. I won't get too into it now but each step of the process was difficult and I almost quit a million times. To put things in perspective, I tried to generate 210 keypairs a year ago, I only got about 60. This time I got them all, and to a much higher precision.
