#AgituGudeta is trending in Italy, after she was found in her home, beaten to death, over a dispute regarding money. The perpetrator took advantage of her body the few moments before the light disappeared from her eyes.
She had found a home in Trentino, after leaving Ethiopia because her pastoral land was taken by multinational corporations. But in Italy, she faced continued hostilities: "They insult me, they call me ugly n*****. They tell me to leave because this is not my place," she had said.

Two women were sexually harassed in Rome on Christmas eve, "within 10mins of each other". One dragged by her hair - almost raped. The papers call him a 'maniac', implying it is a freak episode... implying Italy doesn't have a systemic problem with violence against women.
This year, on average, one woman was killed every three days in #Italy.
