Following yesterday’s announcement by @CDCgov regarding masking, @NJDeptofHealth Commissioner Persichilli and I strongly recommend that both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents wear masks in indoor settings when there is increased risk. Examples of increased risk situations where masks are recommended include:
☑️Crowded indoor settings
☑️Indoor settings involving activities with close contact with others who may not be fully vaccinated

A quick update on yesterday’s @CDCgov guidance: We will keep our indoor mask mandate in place in public settings as we continue to work toward our vaccination goals. To be clear, we’re making incredible progress, but we’re not there yet. Today, New Jersey is top ten in vaccinations and the top five in lowest case count. That’s because of the incredible work millions of New Jerseyans have done to mask up, social distance, and most of all, to make the decision to get vaccinated.

A lifetime in the Catholic Church has taught me about our duty to care for “the least of these,” our most vulnerable.

Today, as I visited our community-based vaccine site at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral in Paterson, I saw this principle in action. To care for the “least of these” means to center, uplift, and love our most vulnerable.

With our community-based vaccination partnership, we’re bringing the vaccine directly into our underserved communities, ensuring that those hardest hit by this pandemic are not left behind.

The President & his staff acted recklessly in coming to New Jersey knowing that they had been exposed to someone with a confirmed positive test.

We hope that no confirmed cases come out of the event in Bedminster.

This is a matter of humanity, but also of leadership by example. Contact tracing efforts ARE underway following last week’s fundraising event with the President at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. We are tracing:
☑️206 attendees at the two separate events
☑️19 staff members who were involved in both events

Tomorrow, the Senate and Assembly are scheduled to vote on the next state budget.

All-in-all, I am proud of the budget that we have agreed upon.

This budget lives up to our most-important objective: preparing our state for a stronger, fairer, more resilient future. Our agreed upon budget:
☑️Protects increased investments in our public education system, pre-K, tuition assistance, and job-training programs
☑️Invests in key infrastructure to provide cleaner air and water, and better transportation
